    The Fabulous Annual RMFF BBQ!
    Saturday July 20th
3:00pm to whenever (just know I have to be at work 9:00am Sunday morning)
2624 S. Carson Way, Aurora (off of I-225 and Iliff)
Bring something for the grill and side or dessert to share.
I'm sharing my famous greek salad and homemade cornbread.
Bring lawn/camp chairs. I'll have a few plus my outdoor patio chairs.
If someone can bring a kiddie pool for the kiddies that would be great.
I just bought a misting system for the gazebo so we adults can keep cool.
This is kid friendly but the house is not kid proof. Please watch your kids.
Bring outdoor games. I'll have a horshoe pit/ladder ball up for some fun.
Bring Somemore makings for later in the evening. I have an outdoor woodburning fireplace.
    BYOB!!!

I'm intending this to be a fun-filled day in the backyard. My kitchen is not that big and having fifty people standing up to eat in the kitchen when I have a lot of space out back doesn't seem----comfy. I do have a formal dining room for those that absolutely cannot stand eating outdoors (seats eight), but the bulk of the party will be in the backyard. Smokey, my four-legged companion will be in my room, so please do not open any doors inside the house (if you want to meet her please come see me). I do have two bathrooms, one upstairs, one downstairs, both may be used.

NEED HELP! I'm in the process of building a nice backyard deck for this. The lumber came today and I need some help taking it all to the backyard, either this Sunday after 5:00pm or Monday after noon (I'm working Mon morn, but will be home by noon).

Either the day before the party or early morning of the party I'll need at least four strong guys to help me put up the Big Lots metal gazebo so we can have some shade (unless someone wants to bring a popup shade gazebo thingy). I'll probably have a deck building party later but I need to shuffle my calendar a bit. If I do have one I'll provide pizza and sodas. Stay tuned for that (still need to plan it).

Sounds great! Can you create an event on Facebook as well?

Don't know how and I'm super busy with DCC and work right now, so any "learning" I gotta do on evil FB won't be for at least a month. And this is an RMFF event, not for the public. If someone wants to post it on FB, please delete my address on the FB posting so the world doesn't see it (I've learned on FB that even if the settings aren't for public most people can still see postings).

Deck building is coming along! Got the outside rails leveled, squared, and nailed together. Tonight I'll be marking the measurements for the joist hangars and cutting the center board to fit. Tomorrow night I'll be weatherproofing the OSB boards (a nifty roll-on paint formula I got at Home depot). If it's still there, in about an hour I'll be picking up a spare TREX picnic table I found on craigslist for FREE!

Bring friends and family, it's gonna be BIG!!

    Old-fashioned summertime BBQ picnic!

Anything you can think of for the grill. I found my lemonade pitcher, so lots of lemonade. I have a smoker if anyone wants to smoke some ribs with me. Also have plenty of apple, cherry, hickory, and mesquite wood chips. Bring on the picnic!

Deck update: centerboard in, all outer boards leveled, joist hanger placement marked. Friday, the joist boards!

Just to clarify; it's bring your own meat and a side dish to share?

Yep, just like it says in the first post. Unless someone wants to bring meat for everybody (which I can't afford since all my money has gone into the deck).

We'll bring some filets wrapped in bacon and some marinated chicken drumsticks...not enough for everyone, but to contribute to the meat pot...so to speak.

For those not on FB, deck update. Eight joist beams screwed in Friday and today. I would have done more tonight but my back and cat said NOOOO!!

Please, if you have one or two of those popup canopies please volunteer to bring it.
Please, if you can help me put up the gazebo and misting system on Friday July 19 please volunteer to help.
Please, if you got Schlitz somewhere in the back of your frig please bring it as an offering (OK, I also like Killians Red).

This is sooooo going to rock!

Four more joists put in this morning, nine more to go! Had to stop to get AL ready for an event tonight. My plan: 2 tomorrow evening, 2 Sunday evening, 2 Monday evening, and the last three Friday morning. Then 4th July weekend I can start laying out the OSB boards and weatherproofing those. Then it's a matter of laying out the recycled rubber tiles (feels good on the feet).

If anyone wants to come out and help on Saturday July 6th I'd appreciate it. Let's get this thing finished!

Oh, and yeah, don't forget the awesome BBQ picnic on July 20th! Lots of fun with great friends!
