2014 St. Patrick's Day parade

It's that time of year again -- St. Patrick's Day is coming!





It's time to get ready for the fun in downtown Denver.

This year's parade will be similar to last year's events. The RMFF has graciously paid for the entry fee and will be providing the skiff float. They are inviting members from the Mountain Garrison 501st, the Mountain Base Rebel Legion and the Mandalorian Mercs to attend.

Zoo (Jennifer Peterson) will not be able to organize the event on site, so she asked me to head that up this year. I've already talked to Jeff with the RMFF/RL. We are excited about having the chance to participate in the parade again this year.

Due to ongoing construction near Coors Field, we may have to ride the light rail down again:

Kilted Troopers are welcome.

Please post up if you are interested, and what you will wear. I will maintain a list of all interested people so we can get a good head count.

Saturday, March 15
Plan to arrive about 8AM to kit up. Kick off time is 10.
We will know about what time we will kick off once we get word on what entry number we are.

We are unit 1-31. Staging is 131 Limerick St. This is in the Coors Field Parking lot. Be there by 8 am.

 

Yay! I love being first. It must be the last-born in me.

 

I'll be there with my best friend elizabeth and her two girls. I think she posted to the facebook page she needs a spot on the float if possible.

i am not sure if i can go, if i do, i will need to ride sadly...my foot is still jacked up.

 

I'm coming early with a couple of kids in tow, so humor me. Since everything is switched do we stand a better chance of finding our staging area by coming in where the parade ends or by coming in to Coors Field/ Park Ave. entrance?

 

Depends on how you're getting there, but the entrance to the staging area is the same, we're just starting where we used to start the disband. We'll be disbanding where we used to start the parade.

 

It's basically the same staging area we have always used. Ask a Marshall where Spot 1-31 is, it will be on "Limerick Street."

 

Just as a reminder for everyone: We are #31 in the first wave. That's right: 1-31.

Your staging address is 131 Limerick St.

Do not try to Google it and use those directions. People have tried. It wasn't pretty. Canadian officials still haven't released them.

This also means that you need to get there early. Please be in the staging area no later than 8 AM if possible. If you are not in costume, you can get there as late as 8:45.

Again: Staging is in the Coors Field parking lot. Do not try to Google Limerick Street.

Go to the big, huge, uber long parking lot for Coors Field. Ask a marshall for 131 Limerick Street. Limerick St. is a staging street in the parking lot.

All spots are limited, we may not be able to guarantee spots, if you are able to walk, please plan on doing so. All children under 6 (correct me if I"m wrong) must be in strollers or in wagons.
