Awards 2015 Awards Ceremony - Best New Author and Best Author

Welcome to the 2015 Fanfic Awards! ​

First of all, Mav and I would like to thank everyone who nominated and voted. We really would not be able to run these awards without all the nominations and votes.

Secondly, we want to thank everyone who volunteered prizes. It looked like we were not going to be able to offer prizes this year, but people really stepped up. Thank you:

Mav will begin the prizes process after we announce all the winners. We're going to announce two categories per day for all the eras so that people have time to congratulate the winners if they so choose. After all the winners have been announced, the winners will be contacted about their prizes. This is going to take quite a bit of time since we are going one by one, so please be patient. You can see how we are going to go about the prizes in The Guide.


Finally, we want to give a super special shout out to: jcgoble3 and Raissa Baiard for being our second counters for the votes. You really made the voting process easier for Mav and myself.

We won’t be bringing back the 15 hour marathon (because it is just the two of us and we do have lives) but we are hoping to have some fun and laughs as long with congratulating tons of great fics and authors.

Yes, precisely. Never heard of it being used as a slur. *shrug* Gonna edit now, and you can edit that quote, too.

 

I had no idea it's a word for anything other than an edible cracker (as in, cheese and crackers).

 

*Mavjade walks onto the stage wearing a red gown, the V shaped neckline and straps beaded with red beads and a slit going up her left leg to just above her knee. Her hair cascades down her back with large gentle curls. This is fiction, so her hair will actually stay this way for more than thirty seconds.*


"Welcome to day number two of the fanfic awards!"


"I know this dress doesn't look like it could hold up in a fight if things get… weird, as they did last year, but let me assure you, there is enough hairspray in my hair that it could not only be a helmet, but also a shield."


*She looks out at the audience and sees the dubious looks.*
