I sure hope H.W. doesn't die right after Obama leaves office.

Oh, he was just hospitalized. For a second there I was like "Man what a weirdly specific existential concern."

I dunno, that seems to be a human that I immediately recognize from memorable performances in Robocop and Twin Peaks. Does he really qualify for this thread?

Just read an article on IGN this morning about his being selected to voice Deathstroke in a new animated film. Ouch.

He was a talented actor, remember him primarily from Crossing Jordan. RIP

I know it's a terrible film, but I absolutely loved his parody work in Hot Shots, Part Deux.

Also, it's just been a terrible month for second-generation Hollywood families... his parents were no pushovers either, and also an actor/singer combo, similar to Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher

Wow. Did not expect that. Had just finished the Princess Diarist and in it, Carrie talks about reading the script with Miguel (who was auditioning for Han Solo). Great actor.

Yordano Ventura, a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, has died in a car accident at the age of 25. Yikes.

I'm pretty devastated about this. He was a hothead, but he also had tremendous talent. People in KC were really rooting for him to finally grow into his potential. This is a small city, so the fans and team are pretty connected. This is going to be rough for us for a while.

Oh, jeez, I'm not into sports at all so I have no idea where this guy falls on the average sports fan's radar but twenty-five is super ******-up.

He's definitely known to most semi-involved baseball fans around the world, because he pitched in two World Series in a row in 2014 and 2015 (winning one of those games as a starting pitcher 10-0, giving up only three hits... Tragically, a few days after another Dominican MLB player and friend of his was killed in a car crash back home). He also set the record for fastest pitch in a World Series game at 103mph at age 23. That gives you a sense of his ceiling.

He was a tremendous talent, even if he hadn't quite lived up to it yet (mostly because he was just too emotional, and sometimes a hot head). As a Royals fan, his temper really frustrated me, and I was worried he was never going to live up to his potential. But this coming season was really his time to prove that he could mature into the player he had the potential to be. It's really a damned shame, and a tragedy for this very close team in a small town, that he'll never have the chance to grow into the potential real ace he could have been.

Apparently the Dominican Republic has one of the highest rates of auto accident deaths in the world. He was driving in a thick fog around a windy, not good road with no street lights. The only blessing is that no one else was hurt. But I feel so terrible for his family, and for his teammates who have spent their young years growing up with him and spending so much time with him.

Is he the children's tv show host who was later revealed to be a pedophile?
