I had a similar experience at a job I used to have with a guy who had burned two things onto a CD: the entirety of The Moody Blues' Days of Future Passed and a joke track of Donald Duck having an orgasm.

Honestly, the Donald Duck track held up better.

 

Of course, as with anyone else, I would have preferred that the Vegas shooting had never happened.

But I don't mind that Tom's passing hasn't received a Michael Jackson style of front page coverage. Those who loved Tom know it themselves and, i'd assume, have at least one other person in which they could share their memories (this thread alone provides that for a fan). Despite his popularity, Tom Petty was really more about the smaller crowds. There was always an intimacy to their style of playing. Never did they attempt to do their "Wall" or "Zoo TV" tour. The Heartbreakers were just the band on stage. So, it's kind of fitting that his passing isn't the number 1 trending story of the week. It also helps to give his family, friends, and bandmates some much needed privacy.

Zara the Snow Leopard.

Just months after celebrating the arrival of its snow leopards, a South Jersey zoo is mourning one of the cubs.

 

If we can, collectively, mourn the loss of Harambe then we can shed a tear for Zara.

 

Well, unlawfully killed...but I fear that's a debate I shouldn't bring up.

Certainly legitimizes Zara's inclusion in this thread.
