Awards 2018 FanFic Awards Ceremony **Day 8 - Authors**

The mods would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Raissa Baird and Findswoman for their massive amounts of help with checking noms, double checking noms, checking lists, and all the other things we made them do! Bri and Mav would also like to thank Mira_Jade who we basically drug into out craziness!

We’d also like to again thank Ewok Poet for her help with the eligibility lists and a big thank you to Chyntuck for her help with corrections and the NSWFF eligibility.


Also thank you to everyone who nominated and voted! Remember, if there is a type of story you don’t see nominated or an author you think is deserving of being recognized, you have to participate! It’s the only way this works!


We’ll be announcing 5-7 winners a day over the next 8 days to give people a chance to congratulate a few people at a time. After the ceremony is over there will be a survey on how you felt this awards process went. So sit back and enjoy!

OOC comment: Four-way ties? I hate to say "I told you so", but...yeah, I told you so. And now I'm laughing that I ended up being a part of one of it, after I went on and on about how there would be at least one

Lady Maladi is, however, horrified, because nothing can compare to the brilliance of One Sith. She's preparing a tasty concoction to terminate everybody else involved...I mean, how dare they?! We all live to serve Darth Krayt. But we'll see what happens, since Lady Talon loves attention and dressing up down, so she's eager to freeload... And there seem to be some eligible men for her. Who cares that they probably died 100 years ago?

Congrats Everyone! I have a craving for Angry Mace Soup, all of a sudden.... And I'd like to follow that up with a piece of Angry Mace cake - sorry Yoda - with the Vengeance Sprinkles...

 

Accepting the award for Teenage Rebellion: Mara Jade Blayne, Ezra Bridger and Luke Skywalker!

The three make their way to the stage. Luke is dressed in his medal ceremony dress jacket, Ezra’s orange leather jacket has been freshly polished, and Mara is wearing a flowing green Merkeshian style gown with a spangled shawl draped around her shoulders. Luke is bouncing on his toes excitedly as they reach the podium. “Guys! We won! Can you believe it”

“We tied, actually,” Mara reminds him.

Ezra shrugs. “Still a win in my book!”

“Right, but it means we have to share our allotted two minutes for the acceptance speech, so let’s get going!”
“Umm...okay,” Luke says, pulling a flimsi from his pocket. “Ahem...Ladies And gentlebeings, fanfic writers and readers, we’re truly honored and humbled to be standing here today to receive this honor, this beautiful golden...um.. bird....hamster...thingy.” He turns to the others. “Do either of you know what this thing is anyway?”

“Cut to the chase, Luke,” Mara advises

“Right, okay...um...I want to thank Leia, Han, Chewie, all the guys in Rogue Squadron, C3PO, R2D2, Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen...”

“Wanna give the rest of us a chance, too?” Ezra interrupts. “So, thanks to the entire crew of the Ghost for putting up with us and giving us good advice through it all.”

“And I’d like to thank my family—see you soon!—all our readers, everyone who voted and nominated, and of course, the Force for bringing the three of us together. I guess it really does have a sense of humor.” Mara takes the guys’ hands and the three of them bow.

If Luke was excited, Shai is an over caffeinated tumble bunny with a sugar high. His grin stretches across his face. “ZebbyZebbyZebbyZebby Zeb! We woooooooon! Orrelios brothers together, AW YEAH!” He pumps his fist enthusiastically.

Zeb looks faintly embarrassed. “Awright, take it down a notch kid. This is s’posed to a classy awards ceremony, y’know.”

“Oh, right.” Shai doesn’t look very chastened. His eyes sparkle impishly beneath his mop of purple hair.

“Me an’ Shai wanna thank, everyone who made this possible, especially Ma, Dad, Priska, Captain Porifiros, Lt. Escleppios...”

“Don’t forget Shuuuuuuulma!” Shai makes a smooching noise. “I bet she’ll give you a biiiiiig kiss to congratulate you!”

“Shai, don’t make me thump you in front of everyone.” Shai snickers as Zeb scowls at him. “Aw, karabast...now I forgot the rest of the speech. Anyway, thanks.” He salutes the audience with the porg statuette.
