The Oahu FanForce will be participating in the 23rd Annual Great Hawaiian Rubber Duckie Race. We've adopted two (2) ducks who we have affectionately named Jedi Quack-Wan and Jedi Quack-Too. They will race down the Ala Wai Canal on March 20th, 2010 for the United Cerebral Palsy of Hawaii. Every year, United Cerebral Palsy of Hawaii offers the public a chance to "Adopt-A-Duck" that enters this race. All proceeds help those with disabilities.

Support the United Cerebral Palsy of Hawaii by adopting a duck today then come down and cheer them on! It's all for a great cause!

    SATURDAY, MARCH 20th, 2010
KALAKAUA AVENUE BRIDGE - ALA WAI CANAL
THE RACE BEGINS AT 1:11 p.m.

The 23rd Annual Great Hawaiian Rubber Duckie Race was a great success. After a rather early start by one of the bin dumpers (with nine seconds remaining) the first ducks were on their way! The final bin still had some ducks in it that all seemed to want to stay in there. After finally getting the last few out, however, the full race was underway.

One duck (we'll call him Red Leader) broke away and headed for the finish line. Sadly, he drifted into the finish line barrier, got stuck, and didn't make it through first. The current had drifted all the ducks toward the Convention Center side of the Ala Wai Canal but they still managed to make it even though some got trapped along the wall. Somewhere in the process, a coconut had snuck its way into the race.

The big winner was Lori Iha who won herself a Vacations-Hawaii Las Vegas trip for two!

Oh, and how did our young ducklings, Jedi Quack-Wan and Jedi Quack-Too, do? They didn't win any of the prizes, but the most important thing is that the donations went to an incredibly worthy cause!
