25Th Anniversary Silver R2

none of the managers at my Toys R Us have even heard of it...

 

It only exists in Spain!

 

It is not available in Toronto...

 

They seem to know nothing here...I've asked at my local TRU a few times now and all they know about is the $100 remote controlled R2.

 

I'm still eager to get my hands on that.

 

Paint the $100 one silver and there ya go.

So is this something that is just exclusive to Spain or what? No one seems to know anything about this figure. *sigh*

 

I know!! I even work at Toys R US and I DONT KNOW ANYTHING!!

 

I talked with a Toys R Us manager today in SD, and they had no idea what I was talking about. They had never heard of it!

 

Well I went to TRU today and I was looking around at the star wars stuff and a lady come up and i asked if she was the manager and she said no, but can i help you. And i said i was going to ask about the...and before i could finish she said "the silver R2" and i said yeah.

she said that her manager has heard about it and has been talking with the distributor about them. she said it will be a large production run but doesn't know what the qualifications are to get it.

But she did tell me that it could be coming about in 2 weeks she said that they are getting a massive load of SW stuff in that week - like 2 to 3 times more than usual and that it is roumored ot be in with that.

Of course this could all be false but at least the people there have heard about it and are trying to get information.

I live in NC and this was the Greensboro TRU if anyone is near here. I'll let you know if i find out anything else.

 

Interesting conversation. We better get some offical news soon or I'm gonna bust my brain up.

any one seen the silver DV?

 

Unfortunately, Silver Artoo wasn't offered with the R2-D2 robot I picked up today. I was hoping that was the plan since that would of been a cool bonus.
The robot Artoo is very cool.... as neat looking as the Silver Artoo is, he's not as cool as the robot version.
If they stick with the $30 purchase idea, I'll just buy a Republic Gunship.

They were hyping AOTC on DVD for pre-order... maybe they will offer it then.

 

I have a Silver TF Vader. They could have picked a better sculpt, but he is still very cool.

 

I think it would have been just a little better since its the 25th Anniversary and they used the original 1977 Vader and R2 sculpts and they where silver.

 

This whole Anniversary R2 thing has almost become comical. We still have no official word, after all this time of knowing it is coming.

 

I think we just found out about it too early in the game, and took rumours as fact.
