Those of you who went to the midnight show of ROTS at Metreon saw this on our staff badges. Today marks the 28th anniversary when a little movie changed our lives, pop culture and films forever! Happy Anniversary "Star Wars", and thank you, George! To show how times have changed, look how much things cost back on this day in 1977:

    Movie ticket: $2.25

    Gallon of gas; $ .64

    Minimum wage: $2.30/hour

So now that the circle is complete, here's a rundown:

    Episode IV: May 25, 1977
    Episode V: May 21, 1980
    Episode VI: May 25, 1983
    Episode I: May 19, 1999
    Episode II: May 16, 2002
    Episode III: May 19, 2005

BTW, to celebrate, I'm planning on seeing it for the 7th time at the 7 pm show at Metreon. Anyone else?

7's too late for me. I'll probably catch an earlier show.

    7 times? Is that all?

Thought you would have a dozen under your cloak.

Going to catch it after work for anniversay.

2 more years until Star Wars in 3-D!

Couldn't make it due to obligations to the gym, yesterday was already my "skip" for the week. Also we get out at 6:30pm due to shut down hours.

28 years ago I saw it in 70 mm 6 track Dolby Surround. So i thought it fitting I should see Ep III on film today. The print was still in decent shape even after a week. But the skipped frames from reel splices were very evident as opposed to the smooth transitions of Digital.
