    Nicky-

I've tried and tried to get PayPal to enable me to send funds your way (for this dinner, and for what I still owe Knightshade), but the GD thing is PISSING ME OFF. **** PayPal... it's no "pal" of mine. I've got the 30 bux for the dinner in my pocket right now... I'll give it to you Sunday, if we bowl, or at the door at the Dinner. Sorry... I REALLY have been trying!!

Oh, yeah, and the 30 bux would imply 2 persons... Emily is coming after all... She's entitled, after having "dorked it up" with us this past year (Geneva, Smith Opera House).

That's OK MadKid - you can give it to me on Sunday.

The food has been ordered! We bought as much as we could with the money from the pre-registrants. If we get a bunch of folks paying at the door we may have enough to add more food. I've updated the first post in this thread with the finalized menu. I've also posted directions for folks coming from the Buffalo and Syracuse areas. If those directions don't work for you, please use the mapquest link and put in your own starting address.

Right now we're guessing it to be about $15 per person for bowling including shoe rental, but we'll get more detailed pricing (and hopefully find some coupons) and get that information posted by mid-week.

Let me know what time you want me to show up to help set up Nicky.
I'll be more than happy to help as long as I'm feeling ok.
Right now I'm fighting something...I dunno if its the Flu or some kind of severe headcold. [face_worried]

I'm going to doubt Lyn and I will be staying for bowling afterwards as something else came up and we'll have to take off.

Okay, I'm going to have to apologize in advance, but I will not be able to make it up to Rochester for the the dinner next weekend. My cars have decided to start a revolt. "The Millenium Falcon" (a Chevy Accalim) which has over 100,000 miles on it, decided to start leaking transmission fluid and it has an inspection at the end of the month and "The Lady Luck" (a Ford Escort LX) which has over 120,000 miles on it has decided to not shift at all. We have to have it towed to a shop this week to find out the problem. And with having just bought a house, we can't afford a rental right now. So, I'm sorry, but keep me informed on what's going on and I will try to make another event, even if I have to dress up. Oh darn (note the sarcasm)! Sorry guys, hope to meet you all soon.

Sorry to hear you can't make it up! Good luck with your vehicles and congrats on the new house!

Keep your eyes on our Upcoming Events thread and I'll try to remember to email you a reminder about the next big thing. It will be the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra John Williams concert on March 19th.

Looks like we should have a pretty decent turn out, if not great. I am excited to be seeing everyone again, as well as possible new faces. Can't wait.

KnightShade is guessing no more than $15 a person for show rental and 3 games, but we've yet to call/go over there to get more detailed pricing.

There are a couple "chores" for this banquet that I would love to have help with if possible.

    * Set-up Helpers: a couple people to arrive early (i.e. 12pm instead of 12:30pm) to help set-up before the attendees arrive. Basically decorate and set-up the reg table and put up the signs. Positions Filled

    * Door Greeter(s): (could be same people as Set-Up Helpers) from maybe 12:15pm-12:45pm to make sure people get from the front door, around the corner and up the stairs to our room. I'm going to have signs as well, but I thought it would be nice to be welcomed by a fellow FanForcer.

    * Registration Desk Helper: I'll be manning this, but might need some help. Basically once each person pays/arrives they'll get their name tag (that's how I'll be keeping track of who's paid or not).

    * Photographer: I think KnightShade will be covering this one, but I'll also have a disposable camera for people to use to take pictures.

I think that's all I've thought of so far... If anyone is interested in helping out, please PM me. As the dinner starts at 12:30pm, helpers should arrive around 12pm.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to join the "Unable to Attend" group. Over the last few days my car engine has become noticeably much louder - I hope it's just the muffler, but it could be something worse. I can't get an appointment to have it looked at until next Tuesday, and I certainly don't want to cross the border with my car in this condition! I don't actually want to go any farther from home than my 200 km CAA free towing radius - just in case...the joys of owning a 10-year-old car...Oh well, I'll try for next year. I'm sure I'll be missing a really great party. Have Fun!

In the *Coldrush* insert in last week's D&C, there is a coupon for a free game of bowling at AMF. The coupon is good for 1 free game for each member of your party, up to 4 people. I'll bring this just in case we can use it...maybe others can check their recycle bin and find it too. :)

Thanks Wookie-Cookie! So far that is the only one I was able to find. I was hoping to find some in the Insider (as they've had that coupon for the past couple issues) but Ridgemont Wegmans was "sold out" of this week's issue.

EDIT: KnightShade brought home some Insiders so now I have 13 "1 free game" coupons and each is good for 4 people. They're also one per person so unfortunately we'll still have to pay for any additional games we play.

We've had to change the bowling location as Olympic didn't have any free lanes for open bowling. So, we now have 4 lanes reserved for 6pm at Terrace Gardens. Here is the info for the new location:

    Terrace Garden Lanes
1151 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14615

I will have printed directions available at the banquet for people to take with them.

Thanks everyone for coming out and making this event such a huge success!
Thank you to Wookie-Cookie & Recaf2000 for coming early to set-up all the decorations.
Thank you to Wingnut for helping to figure out the bowling prices. When I got home there was a message from the lanes saying that they would like to change our party from Saturday to Sunday because of a lack of lanes. Oops!

I'm so relieved that this all went well in the end. I'm planning on getting all the pictures uploaded sometime after today's meeting.
