I'd still say The Rock is his best. He had a pretty dang good sympathetic villain in Ed Harris, a solid plot (sure, it's not accurate to how chemical weapons are actually treated or work-what they do to people IRL is a whole lot more horrific than simply melting your skin off :p, but who cares) and Sean Connery all but announcing that his character's name was Bond...JAMES BOND crammed into a single film.

I think you've got space dementia.

The Rock is a great movie. Armageddon not so much.

Oh, I don't think it's anywhere near as good as The Rock is. Still a hell of a lot more fun than anything Boll has made.

That's an unassailable point. That could be made about any number of crap movies, it's true, but I can't disagree. I mean, sure, anything with William Fichtner is going to be at least sporadically entertaining.

"Oh man . . . what are you doin' with a gun in space?"

[face_laugh] I never quite figured out why they had a minigun on their vehicle.

Well, knowing the physics in Armageddon, it was presumably so they could shoot the asteroid to pieces in the event the nuke failed.

    lol. Naturally.

My favorite bit of Armageddon physics was their super space shuttles somehow banking and rolling and such in outer space with no apparent thrust vectoring or atmosphere.

Uwe Boll is a lot of things, CE, and none of them good. I had the misfortnue of informally meeting Uwe a few years ago and
came away with the impression that he should be selling Oxyclean or Sham Wows on cable television infomercials.

In the international film community, Uwe is regarded as a con artist, fraud, cheat, liar and alcoholic bully; in Hollywood he's just
a laughingstock. Uwe sees filmaking as some sort of dodge to rip-off investors naive enough fund his projects. He used to exploit
Germany's tax-exemptions for film production, but when those ended about six years ago, he shifted just about every nutty method
you can name to raise money. At one time, I believe he even had a website stating that if you sent him $100 (or whatever) he would
list you as a co-producer on one of his works. Of all the piffle!

The twist is that, despite his appalling technical ignorance of filmaking, his early small-budget films, although not successful,
left me with the feeling that he might have had his calling making made-for-television projects (Syfy Channel, etc.), however
Uwe fancies himself the "Great Director", and such small fare would not be worth his grand efforts. This bloated ego of his results
in the near-endless stream of insulting, intellectual diarrhea spewing from his mouth regarding just about everyone who has been
even marginally successful in genres where he has not.

The last I heard, Uwe was trying to put yet another one of his video-based projects together, but I don't believe there is anyone
in the legitimate video game franchise community who would want to have anything to do with him; that's just my opinion, however.
I work in completely different circles than Herr Boll, a have neither the time or interest in keeping up with his antics.

Bay is a glorified porn director but, Boll is a deluded fool.

The Rock is I think his best and really only really worthy film. I am still annoyed at him since I actually paid to see Pearl Harbour in the cinema and wasted long hours of my life (a movie so bad Team America had a song about it) watching that overblown tripe. Armageddon is OK but I don't find it has re-watch value (unlike The Rock which I own and watch often) and while the Transformers movies are certainly very spectacular they are really nothing but a noisy CGI cluster-**** with bad acting (if a CGI robot can act better than you, you're in the wrong job).

Not sure if he has a big ego or is an obnoxious jerk the way Boll is since I don't take the rantings of an "actress" like Megan Fox that seriously.

My guess is the latter, based on various things I've read from people who have worked from him. Most memorably I recall an interview in which composer Harry Gregson-Williams (who worked on The Rock and Armageddon) described him as "probably the most odious director alive".
