    I seem to Jamie ? :D
    Where ????????

Where in my last post, was I EVER bothered ?

i don't give a **** what the iranians were once called

Yeah so .....Iranians couldn't care less either, so whats your point ?
Can't I say anything on this forum Jamie ?
    I couldn't give a **** what you think :) :) :D its your opinion
and I'm entitled to my own. I can post what I like .
I was simply saying that the Iranians were once called Persian, that's all
    Its a well known fact
And when I said Iranians getting kicked by the Greeks, I only explained myself.

Someone got their knicker in a twist.

it makes no difference to me either ways
Well good for you. :) Lets hope you keep to that attitude :)

And remember Jamie lets not derail this thread.

I'm leaving this jibberish agrument that you started.

It's done pretty well in the States so far. I think the visuals have captured everyone's imagination, and it is getting IMAX screenings and so that could be an option for us as the BFI IMAX will be showing it too.

    It certainly looks entertaining.
It could be all style and no substance, but I don't mind.

As long as the courage and sacrifice of the army is conveyed well enough.

And Gerard Butler is fine actor and very much under-rated, I'm sure he'll do well as King Leonidas.

If not, the gore and epic battles will no doubt be satisfying enough :p

I see that Gerard Butler is being eyed-up to play Snake in a possible Escape from NY remake. Not sure if that film needs to be remade, but then again I was thinking Gerard Butler could make a good Connor Macleod in my Highlander re-make, plus he's Scottish too which helps!

    ho-ho-ho,lordtice... my highlander remake???
i'd pay a tenner go see that!

to my horror, did i hear that zack snyder is considering giving gerard butler a role in his bastard version of watchmen? probably as eddie blake, aka the comedian...
which of course, should be played by burt reynolds, and nobody else!!!!!!
sigh... i hear he approached tom 'thumb' cruise with the role of adrian veidt, aka ozymandias...a role surely earmarked for sir micheal york???!!!

i'm still chuckling at the sheer audacity of your highlander remake statement!
    ;)

Well, Gerard Butler has done some stylish swordfighting before

    [image=http://www.monstersandcritics.com/artman/uploads/phantom1.jpg]

And no doubt in 300 he'll do more.
I see no reason why he couldn't be in a Highlander remake. I just don't think one should be made.

Worry not Jamie, I'm not suffering from delusions of grandeur. My Highlander re-make will only be in my head, although I may commit some of it onto paper (or digital mediums at least). It helps keep the mind alive ;)
And I'd say it would be more of a re-boot of the franchise Richie (a la Batman Begins), rather than a re-make because I quite agree the original doesn't need to be re-made.

Enough of my personal vendettas though, let's try and get a dated fixed. I propose either Saturday 31st March, Sunday 1st April, Saturday 7th April or Sunday 8th April.
Because the hour is slightly late, maybe 7th/8th April would be best. And is everyone happy with the bfi IMAX as the venue?? Tickets will be £12.50 plus booking fees. We will need to discuss ticket purchasing though, so if we can get the dates sorted ASAP then that would be great.

    Hello all! How've you been?

Managed to see 300 twice so far (in IMAX and on a regular screen). BLOODY BRILLIANT!! LOVED this film! Gerard is fantastic. The cinematography is so cool - hard to believe all the environments were CGI (the entire thing was filmed in Montreal, in fact). I read that just one outdoor scene was actually shot outdoors, but can't remember which one...[face_thinking]

Anyway, I think you'll really like this flick. I didn't read the graphic novel and I know some of the guys out here who have, didn't like a few of the 'newer' elements introduced - but they agreed that overall, the film was amazing.

    Hope you have fun!

    Hi Yrol :D
So it definitely gets your seal of approval then. I'm a little bit more optimistic about the film now, and worth it for the IMAX experience I'm sure.

I think it would be wise to attend the special dinner jamie, so that means either Saturday 31st March or Saturday/Sunday 7/8th April, but Mark has pointed out to me that this is Easter weekend so may conflict with other things. Therefore the weekend after, Saturday/Sunday 14/15th April could be considered too, but that may limit the showing times.

I'm flexible either way, so if you know for 100% you are going to make it, and can pay in-advanced, then please state your name and prefered date :)

It's possible we could see an early (i.e lunchtime-ish) showing, so it may not clash with Dr.Who and may give us further options for meeting up with others too. I'll see what time the films are scheduled for as soon as they are up.

Okay gang, I've settled for a date, which will be:
    Saturday 14th April
They have a showing for 6:15pm

I hope this date suits everyone; it doesn't clash with the start of Dr.Who nor Easter and gives us plenty of time to book tickets.
I want to book tickets no later then Friday the 6th of April, so I will set a deadline of Wednesday 4th April @ 10:00pm to receive payment for the tickets, which will be £12.00.
Payments can be made via paypal or personal cheques and just PM me for details. If you aren't willing to pay in advance then please feel free to get your own tickets for yourself :)

I may make a rare appearance for this one.

Even though I have a DVD Screener copy of the film already (perfect quality) as nothing beats "The IMAX experience"
