Is this going to merely be gay, be supergay, or be Eminem hugging Elton John ubergay?

 

Well it looks EPIC, but it doesn't seem to have the same lexicon of badassery that 300 had, I kept waiting for someone to shout "THIS. IS . ATHENS!"

 

This movie will use slow motion freefalling. ...Right?

 

Was there an actual demand for this film to be made?

 

Apparently. Saw some facebook comments saying they've been waiting 7 years for this

They made my abs look amazing.

 

Does this still have any relation to the graphic novel, or is it just a sequel created to cash-in on the first one?

 

In the era of the Tea Party, they figured it would be profitable to cash in on the racism and non-sensical violence of the first one.

 

I refuse to see this movie.


Edit: Very RARELY does a movie with "Rise" in its title, do well.....i usually HATE it...Rise of Taj, Rise of the Silver Surfer.....GARBAGE.......

 

Also whose empire is rising in this movie?

 

Looks terrible.

 

Certainly not the Persians, considering the historical outcome of that war.

 

Judging by the look of the costumes, if anybody's empire rises, you'll be able to tell.

 

300 is a film that I think won't age well... sure, when I first saw it I was entertained, and re-watched it a few times with friends when it was released on DVD. However, the more I think about it now, so much of it is ridiculous, melodramatic, and boring.

 

Never saw 300, but I saw the trailer for this. Looks interesting (if I get around to seeing the first) ... but maybe something to Redbox rather than paying through the nose at the theater.

 

A lot of people forget that 300 is actually based off of the Graphic Novel of the same name and as far as this movie goes, Snyder waited to do the sequel because Frank Miller was in the middle of working on the Graphic Novel sequel. Snyder didn't want to start production on a movie that had absolutely no material to work off from even though he knew Frank was writing the sequel to 300. Judging from the trailer, it looks good...I mean its got talented actors, I give you that. Thing is, if it weren't for this project getting off the ground, neither the actors and the director would have wanted to do it the first place. Now that it is off the ground, I think this movie will do good considering the scope of it. We get to see more of the back story of Xerxes as well as who is Artemisia and how she plays a key role, not in just playing the instrumental role in how Xerxes becomes the god king, but how she is the one who started the war.

 

I like the part where the guy with nice abs and pectorals kills the other guy in slow motion.

They could make a whole movie out of stuff like that.

Somehow I'm getting the vibe that this will be to 300 what Chronicles of Riddick was to Pitch Black. Er. In terms of story. Not quality. Don't take that the wrong way, Riddickfans.

 

What does that comment even mean? You're saying you think this will be an attempt at more complicated narrative? It will have more world-building? Or. . .uh?
