I've been learning 3D in Carrara Studio 3($400) and Wings 3D (freeware). I use Wings to do most of the modeling as Carrara's modeler is a bit difficult at times and Wings is amazingly easy. But Carrara can do awesome animation, texturing, and rendering work!

I'll use this thread to post my tests, WIPs and fun stuff. Feedback is welcomed.

Each of these three is about 750Kb so with broadband they should d/l really fast:

    Robot Hello.mov

    Flyby (DivX)

    follow the order.mov

The compression kinda blurred them but I am figuring out how to get that to work better.

    More to come... :D

    So, what do you think?

Technically, click and see is the same as downloading. The only difference is that when you clear your internet cache it gets deleted. Otherwise, it still downloads to your hard drive. The Divx one will still open in WMP but the mov ones will play in your browser if you just click and see.

when you have the pic, you need to have it hosted some where on the net. the you can link it to the boards, provided the site lets you do that. avoid tripod cause they dont allowed linking from what i have seen. ask zacfor the name of the place he uses, he found some free hosting thing.

its not just a free hosting thing.it a free host service that allows a boat load of images for FREE,plus since its meant strictly for hosting images it gives you 3 formats in which to post them.Pm if interested.

found some killer pics of the new DVDs coming out. boy did they ever improve on the whole thing.PM if you wanna see those.I dont know if it considered a spoiler,so ill play it safe.

i did one of the best things ive done in a while, since i have leaned a really easy way to animate stuff with Maya 5.0(6.0 is odd) but i modeled a lightsaber, and then animated it, its really cool.
