I also think we should have a different thread talking about the visual and aesthetic qualities of each entry, in order to... Um, sorry. Too many art sites for me *blush*

But since it seems there will have to be a new banner made.. I'll try and contribute with atleast one entry :/ Man will you pleaaaase keep this one in rotation? It's just beautiful!

 

It would be nice to have a 3NS member do the banner, but I'm not certain we'll have enough entries. And if we didn't like the 3NS entries, it would be hard to say, no those suck, we're advertising in Comms.

Personally I'd like our banners to be as cool as possible, to help attract new people, so if that means Jace has to do it, so be it.

Maybe I'll give it a go myself when I have a few days to work on it... I'm quite handy with Photoshop, but I've never done a banner.

 

It is time for a change.
I have not the talent nor the programs to create a banner.
However, I would like to see one that is filled with characters and places. One of those banners where there is a lot going on and much to look at.

I assume by "*OFFICIALLY RELEASED PICS*" that means no Hyperspace images?

 

And we're going to ask for submissions only on the four MAIN characters of ROTS:

Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme and Palpatine.

You can submit a banner for all four characters if you wish, or submit alternate banners of your favorite character.

... So can I submit one banner based on one character from the list, or do I have to submit a set of four?

No no, you can submit as many (or as few) as you'd like.

Ellbobin, that's actually a pretty cool concept. I think the words are a little scrunched, and I'd maybe replace the shot of Anakin looking down (the blue lightsaber comes into the frame) with something else -maybe a pic of Vader?

Anyway, I really like the transition theme, even though we were technically trying to focus on one character.

You could submit separate entries for Anakin and Obi-Wan based around that concept.

As a Trailer Free member of this forum, I must object most strenuously to this contest!


I don't have any picts from EPIII to make a banner!!!


Our current banner and a few random icon are the only ep3 picts I've unfortunatly seen. Hmmmm.... Maybe I could make a banner with those...

 

Here's my WIP main banner.

I will eventually change the Text a bit and smooth it out a little more.

 

I really like the visuals in that banner and the colors, though as you mentioned the text looks a bit pixelated. If you do smooth it out, it will be a great choice, I think.

I'd just like to that the colors are slighty richer on the original one. I had to save the banner for the web and therefore it had to be below 250k, otherwise it would have been resized. I will work on the text and the other things. Say, how do you open the page set up on a Mac so you can change the colors of the text/ the colored bars (blue colored here)?

 

Here is my entry. I still need to add the adholders but other than that I'm finished. The colors on the real one are more vivid, as pointed out before.

Wandering interest on these banner contests. Probably because everyone is too used to the ROTS (non-spoiler) and the CT banners.

When I opened the new version up I audibly exclaimed. It is very vivid and colorful. Hard to tell exactly what it will look like because the image snapshot is a little squashed, but I think it looks very good.

A very appreciated comment. I had to change the banner as it featured a picture not allowed to be used yet.
Is the current banner less thick than usual for the banners? Mine didn't fit in place very well, though it is the right size. I will soon create the adholders.
