I'm cursing myself now for not checking this thread a week ago so I could have known the closing date is the 12th and, you know, maybe made a banner! Argh! *headdesks repeatedly*

 

So, submitting is already over?! I thought this contest would go on a little longer like the CT Banner contest. I still have my entries but I can't place them on Photobucket without reducing the quality dramatically which would probably affect some people's choices.

As I said in another thread, I won the Thread of the week contest and I'd give the choice of poll away to the one who'd let me use his webspace for my two entries (about 900k each).

 

We'll make an official announcement about the conclusion of the banner contest on Monday, after the (U.S.) holiday weekend. Thanks, G_M.

Thank you very much to all 3NS'ers interested in the results of the recent Banner Contest, and thank you especially to those who submitted entries. You always blow me away with your talents, I fear, legal shark though I may be, and songwriter supreme (of course), I have no artistic talent whatsoever.

Windy and I have decided, as we get closer to ROTS, to become increasingly dictatorial, to parallel the Rise of the Empire.

With that in mind, we have gone away from our usual methods of determining a winner to decided the result ourselves, after much (and I mean LOTS) of discussion and debate.

So enough delay! Here are the results:

February 19th - Obaona's Obi-Wan Banner here

March 19th - Obaona's Padme Banner here

April 19th - Billy_Dee's Anakin Banner here

May 19th - the triumpant return of lexu's banner

We decided that obaona's banners were breathtakingly beautiful, and that billy's Anakin banner showed a fantastic progression of innocent little Ani to black-armored scourge Vader.

Congrats also to lexu; our current banner was so popular that many people didn't want it changed!

Hopefully you will all enjoy the great new banners, as well as the rotating banner format.

Even if you don't, you only have to wait a month for the next banner!

Thanks again, and let's hope the next 5 months (!!!) are going to be as exciting as I think they are!

I love this solution! It will keep things fresh and that way we don't have to choose between all the excellent submissions. Many congrats to everyone and thanks for the eye-candy.

I said we'd have the banner up ASAP, thinking that we'd put it up immediately, but of course, the new banner will be up FEBRUARY 19TH.

Awesome. This banner was nice but it'll be cool to see some new ones go up.

Well, this is it, Frodo-like Anakin...

 

ok, what happened? we had the new obi-wan banner up before, now we are back to the teal and red. Not that I dont like both, but, what happened?

 

There was a miscommunication. "In the back" there is a menu of nearly all of the banners which have ever been used in all of the forums. I sent the three banners that we chose as winners to the tech admin for uploading into this menu. He must have misunderstood and thought we intended to display the first of our three new banners.

Our plan was to release the first of our new banners on February 19th, the three month mark, which is exactly what we are going to do. The banner will be on display again then.

While it is not quite February 19th board time, it has been the 19th for about an hour where I live (Eastern Standard Time) and I am very tired.

Thus, it is time to premier the first of our three new banners! Happy three month mark everybody! Enjoy the new scenery!

Hmm, it appears that someone broke the boards while changing the style. Everything is underlined for me.

And BTW, I'm using Firefox.
