I have bought double of the 4 new transformers which just came out and are hard to come by if anyone is interested to buy the second set.1) darth vader/ tie advance, 2) general grevious/wheel bike, 3) obi-wan /jedi starfighter, 4) luke skywalker/xwing fighter.
I walked into wallmart looking for bratz plates for helis party and had to walk through the toy department when they were unloading a star wars box with the transformers. I did not give them time to finish, snatched the box right from under them and was off with all 8 of them with couple of guys behind me begging for at least one. I did not make any friends that day but I did have a huge grin on my face.:D so if anyone is interested in the second set , let me know, I will sell for the same price as I bought them for. They are cool.

Star Wars transformers is ridiculous... It's suppose to be robots in disguise, not people that turn in to ships from the SW universe. Some mechandise should just never be made.

But then again, it could be argued that several Prequal characters were rather robotic.

    Or worse, wooden.

That's it, almost the whole cast of the PT were Decepticons. I knew there had to be an explanation.

Someone needs to educate you Eva so let me lay it out for you. Just because something has been labeled and trademarked Star Wars doesn't mean you should buy it. Reletivetly new things will not have that much book value and you have to understand rarity of the item as well as nostallgic value. Naturally original items from 1977-84 in good or new condition maybe worth something but all this new "stuff" is to sell something for the sake of selling something.

However, this "transformer" series maybe SO UNPOPULAR that their sale may suck SO BAD that it maybe worth something in about 10 years or so BUT 10 years from now that same money could have been invested in a stock or something. Regardless Eva I suggest specializing in something you actually DO LIKE and DO UNDERSTAND about Star Wars because being a generalist at this juncture will be an incredible strain on your budget and time. I am as far as I know, I am the only real generalist in the club because I overwhemlingly branch into the EU, comics, games, and even production stuff. However, even I have decided to specialize in lightsabers, lightsaber combat, Jedi, and Rogue Squadron. No one here can ever be Steve... because Steve is just... HOLY DAMN!

If there is an item that is HOT then you should get as many as possible and sell'em on Ebay FAST if you want to cash in on it. Back in the day the Episode 1 Darth Maul was worth something prior to the release of the movie and then the market got so damn saturated you could wipe your ass with one now if you ran out of toilet paper (haha just kidding Sith Jen!). Regardless collecting wise, avoid prequel stuff, avoid tacky stuff, AVOID EPISODE 1 STUFF (unless it's so damn rare and amazing that it's awesome like my autographed poster with all the actors in the movie including George Lucas and the artist who drew the poster. Although I got that for free... :D ). High end items that are rare or are nice quality should be the things to go for now. Autographs on neat stuff, most MR stuff, most WETA stuff, most Gentle Giant stuff, art work by the original artist or lithographs (preferably signed), OG Trilogy stuff back in the day in good to excellent condition are the things that will continue to go up in value, OR even rare Hasbro/Kenner toys like the B-wing starfighter (which I do have in box) are just too cool to pass up (although I got that for free too...;) ). Everything else should be play things for 5 year olds.

Also when it comes to autographs I'd recommend taking Matt's advice since he's our resident autograph specialist. Having something signed by the wrong person is kinda weird and may devalue the an item such as your lithograph of the Clone Wars cartoon series General Grevious sign by Matt Wood who had nothing to do with the Clone Wars Cartoon series and was not the voice for the Cartoon Grevious. It's like in the one Simpsons episode with Comic Book guy, "That is a rare autographed picture of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore...". [face_laugh]

    Preach on, Brother!

I heard about it and it sounded terrible. I saw the toys and I just felt ill. I don't care what the price and resell is on it. I think these toys should be plain taken off the market. And Steve...well he started to build his collection a long time ago. And he was at one time Bureau Chidef of the Wall Street Journal. Not too shabby a gig to support your habit.

Better yet, avoid Prequel stuff altogether.

Darn, I must have missed that episode. But yeah, I was there and witnessed the whole thing.
