man. That cover. That;s one of the best thigns about this series that the covers all look damn good.

 

On that cover it looks like Vader is saying "Read me and together will we rule the new canon!"

 

An Imperialized Venator this far along the game? Nice. Getting the Victory-class treatment and being used, but far from the Core.

Disney/Marvel also love the Arquitens-class. Seriously, draw some other support ship once in a while...

 

My favorite thing about this series so far is that it's exploring Vader's weird, ambiguous position in the Empire in ways that no other piece of EU media ever has.

 

Kieron Gillen excels at this series.
And Larroca is a surprisingly good fit here.

Waiting for the HC for this and Aaron's main series is quite the torture.

This comic really brought me back to loving Star Wars again. It’s been… I don’t know how many years since I had last read/watch anything Star Wars, until an old friend lent me the digital versions of the first Darth Vader issues and urged me to read them.

And wow, I don’t remember the last time I enjoyed so much the introduction of new characters right away, like the way I immediately loved Aphra and the droids. I still have to catch up with some of the major stuff that’s been released in the new canon, but I just wanted to leave a love message here to Kieron Gillen and the new canon Vader.

 

I know! It's so exciting!

 

This series makes me sad that Vader is dead in the ST

 

He'll be alive again in Rogue One.

 

Darth Vader is dead. But Anakin Skywalker is free!

 

There are ways to have Vader in the ST.

 

Well...Darth Vader is truly gone. He died the moment that Anakin Skywalker forsook the Dark Side and returned to the Light. Anakin was Vader, and as long as Anakin Skywalker remains on the Light Side, Darth Vader can never return. But I see your point, there's many people that served Vader that still believe in the Dark Side, and they could easily return, using his image to rally followers.

 

Anakin and Darth Vader are one and the same, the darker parts of Anakin Skywalker's personality hardly have been erased when he became a ghost. So if he appears as a ghost, I fully expect him to act at least a little Vader-esque (very assertive, direct, no-nonsense, unsentimental, etc.), because that's his personality.

 

Holocom call, Dagobah tree, Force vision etc. All ways Vader can still have a role in the saga.

 

Do you mean holocron? Because Vader isn't going to be calling anyone decades after he died.

 

Someone like Vader doesn't just have one skeleton in the closet, he has a whole army of them.

Edit: I think he meant a holo recording.

 

Yeah. A holo-recording that someone found.

OMG Such awesome issue with Aphra's mission being revealed as a hunt for a Naboo Mortician. Which means (it actually didn't hit me straight away) Vader wants to find out more about Padme's death specifically whether or not she was still carrying twins at the funeral. Soooooo much potential. I forsee Aphra wondering what the hell's so important about a Naboo senator's dead body.

Ahpra: Who was she Vader an old girlfriend?
Vader: Silence! (gives Aphra a warning choke)

 

Great and interesting issue as always 8/10
+ Thanoth is turning out to be a very interesting character
+Vader and Thanoth's interactions are very interesting
+Seems like Vader looking for the truth about Padme's death, could there be another reason for her death ?
-The twins are back.. *sigh*
