Another injury hits SPECTRE filming. 'Following Daniel Craig's minor injury earlier in the month that briefly delayed filming, news has broken of a more serious accident on the production. The Hollywood Reporter states: "While filming in Solden, Austria, a camera truck veered off the road and crashed into a barn, seriously injuring at least one crew member." "Second unit assistant director Terry Madden, who had also worked on the previous James Bond films Skyfall, Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale, was injured in the accident, suffering multiple fractures, according to sources." Terry Madden has worked on every Bond film since 1981’s For Your Eyes Only.'

 

it's not the worst accident on a Bond set though; an Aston was crashed into a lake () and if you watch the behind-the-scenes feature on the Octopussy DVD, a stuntman was pretty badly hurt filming the train sequence.

 

Yup, they drove a DBS right off the cliff during the filming of QOS. Ouch.

Yes, I saw that on Facebook. I can't link to it from here as I'm at work (EHT, maybe you can).

I'm less than impressed by the choice of brown suede chukka with a fairly formal navy double breasted pinstripe suit.

 

this movie could literally just be Bond posing for publicity photos for about 2 hours and I'd still wanna see it opening weekend.

 

I can't get to Facebook from work either, but I don't use it anyway. I prefer Twitter for this type of thing. Anyway, you can see all of those new photos from Rome HERE. I didn't notice the shoes at all until you pointed it out.

Edit: Are those actually chukkas?

 

They don't look like they go up to his ankles, so they can't be Chukkas. They look more like a brown suede Derby.

When you look at the full picture though, the chocolate stripes in his tie perfectly match the color of the brown suede, for a very put together look. Yeah, with the fairly formal suit, maybe the shoes should have been leather instead of suede, but it's a more modern interpretation. Business up top, laid back down below....

 

They might be derbys; I only saw the shot of him and Monica Belucci where the trouser leg obscures enough of the shoe to make it look like they were chukkas.

However, in Skyfall - which has some of the worst suits (with the best suiting) of the modern era - Bond wears black leather chukkas with the black and white pick and pick suit he wears in Istanbul. The suits are in my view awful because they're cut too 2012, too tight, and too short in the skirt. This was intentional, to create the impression of a man not comfortable in his skin, but it dates the film.



These are Crockett & Jones “Tetbury” 2-eyelet chukka boots.

 

Oh sure, wear a Chukka one time, and get typecast into wearing nothing but?

In Skyfall alone he wears two pair of Crockett and Jones chukkas, including brown suede ones



and the black leather listed above (which are also worn in Shanghai for the fight against Patrice).

Of course in CR and QoS, he wore them as staple casual shoes, i.e:



People here wear RM Williams (which I believe is a global brand now) leather chukkas with suits, so it's not unusual. You just imagine Bond in an Oxford wingtip.

He's wearing his pants way too low for that waistcoat. Look at all that shirt.

 

Yep. It's disappointing because the clothing in QoS was spectacular. There was one misstep. The rest was dead to rights perfect.

 

I've been there!

 

Mr44 - you can see a silenced PPK in the video, confirming Bond retains it. But, there's what looks like a Colt .45 variant with a threaded barrel during the video, pointed out of a car window. Can you make out the model?

EDIT: Wait, no, I saw a promo still of Dave Bautista holding it. It's an "AF2011 Dueller Prismatic", which looks like a double barreled Colt variant. As in, it looks like 2 side by side Colts.

 

My view, as someone whose only fashion choice in life is to wear black cos the classic SPECTRE mooks made it look cool, is that Treasury woman basically dressed Bond, eg. introduced him to a proper suit, now that he's left to his own devices, it should be no surprise that there are lapses.
