Not sure, but "Writing's On the Wall" reminded me of this part from one of the trailers:

I'm never going to not see the big capital C in McClelland that is just plain wrong. Screw this movie.

Having finally listened to it, the instrumentation is solidly Barryesque, and while the lyrics are kind of muddled, that's par for the course, but the problem is Smith. His voice is too soft, his delivery almost hesitant. A Bond theme needs a little bombast, but Smith just has no energy.

    The lyrics are bloody awful.

    "I'm unprepared for this
    I never shoot to miss..."

Shut up Sam Smith. Just shut up.

    Oh yeah. Pure twaddle.

What's ultimately disappointing is there hasn't been an amusing Bond lyric since "Touch it, stroke it and undress it."

In regards to that wall photo another thing that's wrong: Where's Tiago Rodriguez?

In other words, he's not qualified to be an Imperial Stormtrooper. :p

We're supposed to believe this applies to the man who says "the bitch is dead".

More than anything, it's the borderline female falsetto that Smith regularly goes into. He needs to listen to some Bryan Ferry.

James Bond movie poll - vote for your 5 favorite and least favorite Bond movies. The site doesn't show the results so far after you submit your votes, so I guess I'll try to keep an eye out for the results and post them later.

I voted. All my least favorites are Roger Moores. Which is a shame because I like Roger Moore. :(

The Spy Who Loved Me is terrific, as is For Your Eyes Only . Other than those two, IMO, Moore's films are silly and contrived. Octopussy is a maybe.

Teaser for the music video. At least he doesn't sing in this. :p And he's apparently on the set of... Skyfall, for some reason.

Hopefully he also accidentally wanders into Willard Whyte's mansion and gets accosted by Bambi and Thumper before the falsetto starts.

You can pre-order your tickets at my local cinema. Just waiting for pay-day, I shotgun director's lounge - back row. Hands off.
