Well first of all, insinuating that, if someone has a different view than you on something, that they "just don't get it" or "missed something," doesn't help your argument. It just makes you look arrogant and condescending. And second, I didn't find the plot to be all that interesting or compelling, simple as that. I didn't "miss" anything.

We know that it will address Quantum somehow, because we know Mr. White is in it. What we don't know is if there will be a reveal that Quantum was SPECTRE all along, or has rebranded itself as SPECTRE, or is a component of SPECTRE, or if Quantum and SPECTRE will be separate and they're just going to use it to set up SPECTRE as an even bigger, badder organization. Personally, I think one of the first spectrum of options is most likely.

He's all bearded up and haggard now. He's the guy shouting "He's everywhere!" in this trailer:

Easiest place to spot him is in trailer 1, when he says "you're a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr. Bond"... or in trailer 2 when he says "he's everywhere!". He's in the cabin by the lake.

Octopussy has some incredible action sequences , especially the stunts , however no-one actually thinks Roger is doing any of it .

in that era just about none would have . even today i'm sure Craig doesn't do a lot of it. i try not to think about it and stay within the story. behind the scene's stuff is fascinating but it can take one out of the experience.

it's incredible , he's walking along the top of a train and having to drop every time they go under a low bridge , and he's clearly not tethered .

the top 4 are easy for me, On her Majesty's Secret Service, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball. The bottom 5 are pretty easy. it's after the top 10 that it become's murkier

Dalton did much of his own stunt work.

yeah i know Dalton did, like being on top of the truck in The Living Daylight's. but i also remember the story about him on the plane in License to Kill, just rigged 20 feet the air and Cubby seeing it and yelling at the stuntman "that's what i pay you for !" [face_laugh]

Depends on how much you want to know, but seeing as how it was kinda spoiled in Empire Magazine...

    Actual spoiler

Vesper, Le Chiffre, Greene, White, and Silva are all SPECTRE operatives of some form. Quantum is briefly namechecked as being a part of it, SPECTRE is the larger operation. Although the script (disappointingly) doesn't address this directly, in retrospect it will indicate that the Tosca attendees outside of Greene's direct retinue are "SPECTRE" and Greene's subset is Quantum; it also "helps" the extraordinary resources and omnipotence at Silva's disposal.

Full music video is out. It contains a fair amount of less action-oriented footage from the movie, including some shots we haven't seen before in the trailers.

Well, though I think the track is weak, it does sound better to me when played over the new Bond scenes. Who knows, perhaps when it plays in the credits sequence it will suddenly click with people - I'd heard You Know My Name several times before seeing Casino Royale and had been underwhelmed, but when I heard it in the cinema it instantly became one of my favourite Bond themes. I can't see that happening with The Writing's on the Wall, but maybe it'll at least be okay?

Yeah, I heard that, but wasn't sure if that was ever confirmed.

I kind of feel the same way. His singing still bugs me in some parts (most of the falsetto parts) and some of the lyrics are kind of cheesy. But the song itself sounds decent, and like I said when we heard the first 15 second snippet, it does sound like a Bond theme song. Overall I think I will probably grow to be OK with it, even if I don't love it.

Today, Monday 5th October, is official Global James Bond Day – a celebration of 53 years of the Bond franchise. This date marks the anniversary of the release of DR. NO in 1962. This special day of celebrations first began in 2012 when the Bond films celebrated their golden anniversary with events all around the globe and the release of the theme song for SKYFALL by Adele. This year the day is marked with the release of the official video for Writing’s On The Wall, the theme song for SPECTRE, by Sam Smith.

Looking at that photo of Sean Connery, the gun he is posing with strikes me as odd. Its either a long barrelled Walter PPK, or a Luger? Since it has the front sight on it, it does not appear to be a silencer. Then again Q branch could have modified one? Anyone have an idea what Sean Connery is carrying?

i think that's the most often seen publicity picture of Connery . it's not a gun he used in the movies, i've never understood it either.

    As I said before, it's an air-pistol.

I can't remember where I read about it, but the picture comes from a publicity photo-shoot where the photographer had to make do with what he had to hand - in this case an air-pistol.

    In fact:
