    /.........peace......quiet......tranquel internet time....THUMP!/

The thump, was UPS, throwing a package on my
(ouch!) cement doorstep.....I rush to the door, and
see this...HUGE...(22x15x5) for me anyway, box.

No idea what it could be, (I am constantly on ebay)

Finally, with reading glasses on , I see who it is from
and begin the ........oh be careful....process of opening,

    DRESSING A GALAXY.

It is well packed and should come to you from the PIDM museum source,
in a typical brown outer cardboard packaging. Inside this is
a white carboard box, which, you might want to keep to store
Dressing A Galaxy in.....but....though it looks like a simple
"fold it / hold it" box.....it is stuck/glued together. I very
very carefully, used a knife to separate this part, kinda like
trying to open a cereal box.....but, Dressing A Galaxy is right
underneath this, so much caution is advise. At this point, it
is wrapped in a thin plastic bag.......my hopes are to find
something to replace this and still have everything fit back
into the white customs built shipping box. This way, I can have it
out and about a little, as I intend to use more than just store it.

I have number 783. A small yellow post it note, is on the outside
of the white box, and it should match the number in the inside
of the book ......and yes, a very nice, original signature.

Too much to look at for now, and in general. Very much looking
forward to other opinions and observations.

    and to finally loose control.......

WOW, this is one of the coolest items from Star Wars, ever.

The OBI, is made of cloth and has cloth-like buttons to
open and close it around the box.

    Actual item size is 17x14x4.

    gotta go to work now......sigh

Hope for no rain.......in my haste to get my previous post done,
I did not take a lot of time to look more closely at the "white" inner box,
that I mentioned............YES, you will keep this.......It has a poster
glued to the other side......and this poster is only protected by
the outer brown UPS cardboard box.......and so.....is suseptible
    to water damage.....YIKES!

I got lucky...the box didn't get wet...and I already went through everything last night...I could not put the book down...

Man....I will never look at fabric the same way ever again...
I feel very fortunate with regard to the fabric samples that I got. I got all of the fabric swatches for Obi-Wan and Anakin...boy...the Obi-Wan outer tunic fabric is very different close up...and one of the arguements that I have read about Anakin's colors in ROTS was finally answered by Trish....Anakin's cosutme in ROTS was not black...but about as dark brown as you can get without being black....

and the photos...WOW....you can really see detail that previously was not visible....

I have not had a chance to look at the DVD yet..

There had been some complaints posted elsewhere that there wasn't enough OT in the book.....hello...Trisha Biggar didn't work on the OT....lol...

but this Special Edition is really a first class act!

sorry, can not make the book club, but sure, I would let
    any CF-er check this out:)

Phyllis, glad you got your ok......and oh my are you right,

the number of specific answers to many questions are in this book,
along with expert photo-s and even digital costume info.

DVD.......not as good as I had hoped for, just a series of
"making of" clips.......wanted more of Trisha speaking directly
to the audience, and at least some specific costuming notes.

ZAM fans will go nuts over her photos,

and Mon Mothma photos, will make you wish she had at a
    bigger role in ROTS.

oh.....and dear costumers, you will really need to be
friends with someone who has access to this book,

and.....if you think this book is costly, well,
after looking at some of the close up photos,
it looks like much of the material to build many of
these amazing costumes.....will cost much much more.

    more later

    Ed

If only ROTS had been good as these costumes.....

It is almost all PT stuff....there are some bits and pieces of the OT...
But since Trisha Biggar had nothing to do with the OT...and this is "her" book...there is little of the OT in there.
