From the [link=http://www.bolltd.com/firm.asp?page=history]web site[/link] of the architect of McD's HQ: The McDonald's corporate headquarters was the first commissioned corporate project BOG received. Beyond the awards received for the design of the building, the projected is notable for the construction technique used for the exterior skin. The concrete panels were precast and preglazed at the manufacturing plant reducing construction time and costs. The interior of the building is also a dramatic departure from traditional design. There are NO walls. Landscape features separate the offices and individual departments. This created a "living room" environment which is more people-oriented and creates greater productivity and interaction among employees.
