Hi, stolen from many other boards,
I am hopeful that this would be a fun topic,
to comment on everything from the latest block-buster
hot new release, to re-runs of I Love Lucy:)

    or

anything, to keep the Milwookies on the ropes:)

I will start it off with a (yes, this is a strech)
Star Wars kinda reference.....which I have posted elsewhere,
and was going post in the ST-BLOG, but thought,
    heck.....the more threads/posts the merrier,

    Here goes,

    ________The Great Dictator______

with before and after commentary by

    Carrie Fisher and Mr. Osborne.

well, WOW, what an interesting film,
(ok, I have seen this before, but
long long ago, which seems far far away,
and it was colored as ancient, by my
    yount-then....mind and pre-concieved notions.

and Since there is a Star Wars twist
of Carrie Fisher .....trying to add
commentary in a discussion style with
    Mr. Osborne.......

It made me think......gosh, Star Wars 30-yrs old soon,

wonder what a 20-year old thinks about such an old film,
    (Star Wars)

I wondered this, cause, when I was 20 (circa 1970)
THE GREAT DICTATOR, as a movie, was 30-years old,
and at the time, I thought that was really ancient.

After all, it was Chaplins first talkie.

anyway, Carrie Fisher, was kinda weak, and
I will keep an eye out for more of this in the future,
but it will kinda be movie dependent.

......will try to post more as I am inspired,

Hopefully, others can voice some opinions:)

For now, has anyone else, ever even seen the film
    the GREAT DICTATOR?

    No problem:)

In other news, with StarGate SG1 ending, I am wondering when
they will have the ultimate boxed set DVDs out.

and, since Heart of the Empire has opened, I am also looking for
when that comes out as well.

In the meantime, am always on the lookout for a new movie or TV show,
or DVD to pick up.......Heard a rumor, that the Gieco "Caveman" commercials,
might get a chance to become a sit-com!

What a riot that could be.

I love those commercials, and I love the song when he is in the airport. I actually downloaded that on IPod. As for SG1 JMD is the expert there.

I started watching Lost and actually love it, very good. Love the storyline and what they are doing there. I have watched season 1 and working on season 2.

For television, these currently rule my universe (meaning I actually dedicate my schedule to viewing and look forward to the next episode):

    Heroes
    BattleStar Galactica
    Stargate SG-1
    Stargate Atlantis
    LOST
    My Name is Earl

    And a new favorite:
    Thank God You're Here

And let me say that NBC.com is rockin' for having the Heroes episodes available to watch online. Seeing them again with commentary is absolutely great.

And VIO is correct in that I own all available DVD sets of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, and will purchase Heroes when it comes out. LOST and Earl are fun but I doubt I would ever re-watch them.

As for movies I don't usually get too much flex time to hit the theatres as much as I used to. The last movie that was actually planned to see was ROTS (yes that long ago). I will likely see "Spiderman 3" in the theatre (IMAX in Portage!). The "Transformers" movie looks good but I will wait to hear the reviews first and may not actually get the the theatre for it.

For videos, I've got a NetFlix subscription so I end up with a wide assortment of genres. Last movies were "Stranger than Fiction" and "Idiocracy."

MT...thanks for the link on Speed Racer, that was one of my favorites growing up and then watched re-runs while in college. I wonder if the will have the monkey too? And his brother Racer X? Good Stuff all around.

Hey Mr. Mav, now an IMAX is available in Portgage, more like an hour away instead of over 2 hours. And better yet, less of a chance of locking my keys in the car.

Have finally seen.....HitchHikers Guide To The Galaxy,

ok, I was a fan of the original and the very old video game,

and so....was kinda surprised, at this latest effort,

and tho, there is no way they will ever beat the original
depressed robot.......they did do a pretty good job on this.

must really get out and see the 300.

Venom was awesome. So awesome, he should have been in more of the movie, instead of just the last 10 minutes.

Sadly I have little time to go to the theatre, what with younglings at home and all.

Is it wrong that I am looking forward to watching the new episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants with my son?

However, I am going to use up all my accumulated spousal points and go see the new HP in the theatre.

I am going to work that angle too CH, I believe from the trailers this one may be the best yet. I have started re-reading the books to get ready for the final installment later this month.

There is currently .........no truth to the rumor that

    ________SPAM-A-LOT________

will be turned into, or made into, or adopted to become a

    filmed version of itself!

Come on guys, put your foot down in the house you rule! If you want to go see a movie, say "Hey woman, you watch the children, I'm going to see Harry Potter!" Man that just don't sound right.

It truly was an entertaining movie. As a friend called it: "Sex for your eyes".
