I have a lot of things to thank Don Herbert for. My understanding of density, sound waves (or, particles) vs. radio waves, etc. Good stuff. I wonder if they are available on mininova....

    HAIRSPRAY,

Well, as a huge fan of the original wacky John Waters film,
    and
having heard the music of the broadway production (not impressed)

I was amazed at how much I like the film.

and so, if you like "old school" musicals,

This was a pretty gosh darn fun film to see.

we rented North by Northwest two weeks ago. it was in the top 100 list, and it was good. WOG59 is a big Cary Grant fan, so we watch his flicks on a somewhat regular basis.

I downloaded 40 Year Old Virgin, and Goodfellas. Both were good, I recommend them. Saw Hot Fuzz tonight, that was pretty good as well.

i do not recommend 40 year old virgin unless you think that vulgarity and swearing is hilarious.

    ref, TV........

Tried my best to like the new (re-imagined) version of Flash Gordon.

Found the pilot to be kinda weak.

Anyone else get a chance to check this out yet?

wow. that was a bit off topic. i like the topic of this thread. leave it alone.

i didn't like studio 6 and i'm glad it's gone. i'm also glad that they wrapped up a bunch of loose ends over the (4-week) finale, so i don't hear WOG59 complain that she doesn't get to see how it ends.

i liked blade the series on spike, but it got cancelled right in the middle of a huge plot curve, so i'm bitter about that.

Studio 60 was one of my favorites. The dialogue was fast and smart. You don't get that in many shows.

As for Blade, I also heard that Spike had dropped it, but that New Line was shopping it around to other networks.

I saw Little Miss Sunshine last night, it was pretty good. A few parts had me busting out laughing, angering of my wife, who was trying to watch her show.

    Am currently watching,

    BAIT CAR

    [image=http://www.yourdailymedia.com/i/u/H6dd9ixw.jpg]

It is an amazing insight into people,
especially parents who steal a car, and then go pick up
their kids to show them how its done.......YIKES!

I love seeing them all get caught.

Saw Fantastic 4 ROTSS... It wasn't bad. It wasn't that great, but it was about the same as the first one. To be honest, I don't think a sequel would have been made if comic book movies weren't so popular.
