OOC A Battle of Words {A War of Kings OOC Thread}

Hey there!

The game is inspired, as I think many people are aware, by the popular Game of Thrones TV series and the novels on which that series is based upon. It is a completely different universe from that show, but some of us draw upon GoT for inspiration. The plot is that a once-unified kingdom had splintered under the rule of an oppressive king. It is assumed that this will lead to open conflict, and in a sense it has as hostilities have commenced against the rebellious nobles and self-styled kings, eventually. However, the thing about GoT is that very often things you think will happen don't. All of the characters are indeed original and I imagine there's always room for more (but not being the GM I could be speaking out of turn). There's room for the highest of the high to the lowest of the low. It's surprising who it is that plays a part in the affairs of state.

spycoder9 is your man if you want more details than that. You'd be very welcome in my book!

 

My A finger (right ring finger for you non classical guitar players ) is in a bandaid. so It's making it hard to type, I'll be working on a post a bit today and probably have it posted tonight.

I've never seen GoT so.... Yeah. My characters have drawn inspiration from other Fantasy stories as well, kudos to those who know it when they see it.

Thanks, I sent him a PM. The GoT refs virtually mean nothing to me either, Isotope. I've never seen a full ep of GoT series and the books are my taste. Is there a reference site I can check out to get the history? So if I join up I'm hopefully not utterly clueless?

Thank you @Jedi_padawan_leigh. I will start reading up and hopefully Spycoder can help demystify me further once he sees my PM. I kinda hope I join. I love building characters.

 

I actually think GoT is a parody of the Drenai Saga by David Gemmell, much of the societies in GoT seem to be reminiscent of those as well as the political intrigue.

Anyways, I'll be writing my post now.

 

There's plenty of opportunity for character building. If it were me, I'd first start to think about what part of the land you would want your character to come from. There is the Capital, the Desert, the Islands, and the Mountains. Spy never gave anyone the opportunity to be from the Plains when this game first started, but they do exist. Methinks there's some untapped potential there.

Spy sometimes takes a bit to get back to you but it's ok, she reads the messages thoroughly.

Deer (No Elk sorry, I would imagine Elk would be a stronger version of deer) :

Wolf:

It is indeed humor. The small text was supposed to be an indicator of that. No worries--I am acutely aware of the fact that text lacks tone. Gotten myself into plenty of trouble with women that way.
