A Call for Intensity: A Bold Challenge

I've been writing a lot of sugar lately. By that, I mean a light hearted ANH pov, some teenage angst/romance, and other general romance in the OT and EU. Don't get me wrong, I like writing that stuff. It's fun and readers like it. But, I've hit a wall, today. The sugar and spice has run out leaving me with a desire to do something more substantial. I'm not talking angst or drama, but something truly exciting. Action, perhaps, but, even more...Intensity!

I'm going to throw this out as a challenge to you all. Is there anyone else out there that wants to do something a little different? This is an open challenge for a vig or more, but lets keep it short(1000-2000 words) for maximum punch.

Let's see what kind of intensity you can create. Pull out your OC's, Cannon, or EU characters to to create verbal, physical, or mental intensity.

Please link your story back to this thread and make sure to identify this challenge in the title line of your post.

Words to include: Visceral, Impact, Subjugate, Duty, and Fierce

Most of all, as I've told my padawans, new and old, HAVE FUN and let the thrill ride begin!

 

I could give this carriage a whirl around the track, and see what comes out of my addled brain.

I like writing action stories. I'm in the midst of a long series about soldiers, and I'm writing another epic about assassins. I just might try my hand at something a little shorter. Great challenge idea.

Okay, I'm an evil lurker. I may take this on. . . I've never written anything shorter than 2500 words so this may be interesting. Hmm. . . I think I shall do it.
