A call to action.

An open letter to the Boston Rebels.


As many of you know there is a problem member within our group. I will not call him out by name but we all know who he is. He continually causes disruption and derision in this Forum. Several members of the Rebels have tried to convince this person to behave in a civil manner. All of these efforts have been in vain.

A growing number of the members have become frustrated with having to deal with this person. Several have even mentioned that they no longer enjoy posting here as much due to his continued disruptive actions.

The Administrators of this site are limited in what they are able to do to deal with this person. But I think we can all agree that something must be done.

With that in mind I propose that we make a stand and boycott the Boston Forum. I know many of truly enjoy posting here and have made friendships that will last a lifetime. I am not suggesting that we leave the boards on a permanent basis, only that we stay away for one day.

Hopefully this action will show the Moderators how unhappy many of us are with the situation that this person has caused. Perhaps this will finally convince this person to become a civil and productive member of the group.

I ask that you join with me and boycott the Boston Forum beginning on Tuesday January 28, 2003 at 12:00 AM and refuse to post until January 29, 2003 at 12:00 AM.

I hate to take sides, but I must agree. I've tried to make a difference.

BTW - does this include the JCC and other Forums? Just need to know, I visit those regularly now.

 

This boycott only applies to the Boston Forum. You can post anywhere else that you want and still be part of the boycott.

In an effort to avoid any hostilites please just post that you plan on taking part in the boycott and refrain from reacting to antagoistic posts.

I know I agreed to let you post this Scott,and I'm sorry to say I have second thoughts on the matter.

I truly believe this is a bad idea.

It saddens me to know that a great group of people can let a little thing like this stop them from having a good time in here.I honestly felt that we were all above something like this.

Now I cant make you all post here that day,and i cant make you all post here ever again.But I truly hope that you all will change your mind and continue to post here,and have fun with the group.

Roy, I'm sorry you decided to back out of the boycott after agreeing to take part but that is your right. I still hope that those that have already agreed to take part will do so.

Perhaps it is childish. But these things take place all of the time. Its like having every single member of the UN agreeing that a certain nation is a problem. in this case, its all of our members letting you-know-who know he is a problem(no, not Lord Voldemort )
I think Scott could really use our support.
Again, I know this won't work, but maybe it'll show You-know-who that he isn't welcome at all. we can then completly ignore him, then, we can only hope, he will go away.

I don't want Roy to get angry. We should act as one, as a group, not as factions.

Okay. here is the low down yo

Scott proposed a boycott for obvious reasons.
Everyone supported it.
Roy backed out thinking it was a bad idea.
Sillyness followed.
Scott,Carrie, Tony, and I all supported it, and still want to support it.
No one wants hurt feelings anywhere.

support it or not, don't really care cause us not getting along is silly.
