Having said this over in Lit, I think it bears repeating--- After working my way through Farscape again recently, PLEASE let Wayne Pygram be the one to voice him!

Not really blown away by this, though it's cool. He was bound to show up at some point and I'm surprised it took them this long.

We may have to revisit the spoiler policy, as Gry said above.

The difficulty is that, compared to the films which only came once every 3 years, having a new episode each week (more or less) during the season means there is going to be an onslaught of information, and obviously LFL's official policy is not to leave any room for surprises, idiotic as that may be. Why? I never heard his voice, but it would be a great coincidence to sound anything similar to Tarkin.

Don't really care myself, he's not that important of a character.

That makes me think that maybe he made some scenes with dialogue in RotS.

Great news, but as usual spoiled way too early. They couldn't have waited one week??

Anyway, I hope they get someone good to voice him. I can't imagine Tarkin without Peter Cushing. :(

    His title should be Governor

I'm not sure exactly what his title should be, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be governor. Didn't Palpatine start assigning governors right before ROTS?

They sure did nail his look. I agree with you about the voice. Let the guy who had to suffer through so much makeup for RotS, only to have his role reduced to a *blink and you'll miss him* distant cameo, do the voice.

That's Moff. He was Governor Tarkin before the Empire's birth.

Governor isn't a military title in the GAR. He was already Governor of his system before the Clone Wars.

Tarkin did negotiate and gotten a name to himself during the Clone Wars, though he was never a captain or held any sort of military rank. That's brand new. He was the governor of his system during the CW as well and became the Empire's first Moff.

That's right, he never served in the GAR. It's a retcon.

He was governor of Eriadu, he retired from military service 10+ years before the Clone Wars.

    Read my post above.

His brother Gideon was part of the Republic's military, though.

There's nothing wrong with this, then. As was said before, it's a retcon.

    Nothing that contradicts his appearance.

His new military rank and him being in the Republic's military are definitely retcons, and I said before he never served the Republic's military. That was his brother.

Really, I don't understand who thought Tarkin was a captain during the CW.

    Well, that's why it's a retcon.

Although I think he should have a higher rank. Maybe they will explore this in the series.

Well, casual retcons like this are agitating.

And yes, captain is way too low. He went from Governor of an entire sector, and its military force, to captain of (I'm assuming) a single ship.

There is no reason for him to take such a huge demotion.

That's too much of a far stretch to even consider that yet, CT. Given this is TCW, though that's pretty much a slap across the face to Tarkin.

I really hope he becomes a series semi regular would love to see them develop the relationship between him and Anakin, seems like they have so much history in a New Hope "Obi wan Kenobi? Here? Are you sure?" These guys have been rolling together for a loong time - was it ever established anywhere that he knew Vader was Anakin?
