ok, i have finally found solid fact on this Lurtz character!

he IS a movie ONLY character (this is why i couldnt remember him)

the following url contains info on lurtz, which is classed as spoiler by the website - i dont believe it is but its up to you.

    [link=http://www.theonering.net/movie/char/lurtz.html]link to lurtz[/link]

the only part that is spoiler is that it tells you "what his actions and part" is in the play.

im a happy camper now i know! hehe (and i know see why hes in the same box as boromir (in the figures)

    Aaaarrrrrggghhhhhh!!!!! Nnnnnoooooooo!!!

    What have they started?!?

[blockquote]Today Decipher Inc. announced the launch of [link=http://www.LOTRfanclub.com]The Lord of the Rings Fan Club[/link] and unveiled an very unusual offer to fans looking to achieve cinematic fame (of a sort): individuals that sign up for membership in the fan club will have their names appear in the DVD release of the movies.

By signing up for a one-year membership (cost $39.95 USD) you'll have your name appear in the Fellowship DVD's end credits. Two-year members ($69.95 USD) will have their names appear in the first two films; and three-year members ($99.95 USD) get to have their nom de plume in the credits of all three DVD releases.

In addition to seeing your name in the film's credits your membership also gets you six issues a year of the bi-monthly official movie magazine; collector lithographs; a 10% discount at the online fan store; and more.
    [/blockquote]

As if they didn't make enough money from the movies, DVDs, videos, books, toys, cards, ...
now we have to put up with tons of names on our DVD credits. :(

Soon they'll be doing it to the actual cinema movie too. :_|

    oh man,

i must admit it would be cool to have your name in the credits of a movie, but this defeating the purpose of the CREDITS - they are crediting the people who put time and effort into the presentation and by having peoples names that have just payed money to be there is robbing the workers i feel.

id love to have my name there, but by my own merit and credit, not by paying for it.

:( not that i sit and watch all the credits on all presentations i watch but still. :(

Aside the fact that it all seems rather lame, you have to admit it's a good money making scheme. They'll make a bucket load of money out of this.

They had the LOTR's toys in the latest Toy World mailer.

Personally, I'm more interested in the Harry Potter lego.

Look at us, we're all betraying Star Wars and turning to the Dark Side.

    NOT ME!!

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Butt Ugly Martians, Dragonball Z, Pokemon, ...

They can all stay of the shelves! It's Star Wars, the whole Star Wars and nothing but the Star Wars for me!!

I'll never turn to the Dark Side.

Well ... apart from the occasional Thunderbirds toy, Battlestar Galactica and Stargate DVD's, Smurf, ...

    :)

    mmmm trailer was good...ah, arwen.
that credits thing is a bit sus tho.

I think this last wave of 'fads' has turned me into more of a toy collector rather than a star wars collector. doesnt mean i cant still be a star wars fan, does it?

ah hell with it. still gonna buy all the star wars figures when they come out. who am I kidding.

    whats this about HP lego?

There's an excellent article in today's (Saturdays) Herald about the merchandising of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. There's quite a bit about the Phantom Menace merchandising too. It's in the Time Out section. It also says that the Lord of the Rings merchandise is targeted at adult males. Heh heh , suckers. ;)

Here's a link about Harry Potter lego:

If you want to borrow my sith outfits you can, I charge them out at $175 overnight (includes sabre)

I was going to get some Harry Potter figures too, but then I saw them! They are terrible, and on top of that the price... $28 for a figure. I'd rather slap myself with a wet fish.
