Christmas Reborn ? A New Chance

First part

Kyp rushed through the corridors holding the bottle of Whyrens and two glasses in his hands. He felt so stupid. He was so glad that the corridors were deserted; now no one could see him. It was five o?clock in the morning and he was on his way to bring Jaina out of her bed, asking her if she wanted a drink. Stupid.

Before he knew it he found himself in front of her door. He pressed the door bell, silently hoping she wasn?t home to see him like this. After what seemed to be an eternity the door opened and a sleepy Jaina greeted him.
Nonetheless she looked breathtaking. Her hair was ruffled from sleep, reaching down her back and shoulders, her eyes were a little swollen too. She had been dragging a cape around her shoulders.

?Force ... Kyp! What are you doing here?? she said with a raspy voice.

?Good Morning to you too, Goddess,? Kyp answered cheerily.

`Now he has gone mad!´, was Jaina's thought.

The older Jedi smiled at her and pulled the bottle from behind his back. ?I know it is rather late or rather early, depending on how you look at it, but would you mind sharing this lovely gift with me??

If he had surprised her, her face didn?t betray it. ?Come on in then.? She stepped aside so he could enter, still curious as to why he was really here. Her room was dimly lit by a lamp on the bedside table.

Jaina closed the door and sat in a comfy armchair, slipping one leg beneath her. She gestured for him to sit down. He sat the bottle at the table, the glasses along side it and sat down opposite her.

?Could you please explain how you knew the bottle was from me?? she said.

Instead of an answer he poured two glasses of the whiskey. He lifted a glass to her. She stared at him for a moment, waiting to see if he would snap at her or do something snaky like always, but he did nothing. She took the glass from his hand.

When she took it, Jaina accidentally brushed his fingers with hers, causing shivers to run down his spine. He looked up and green eyes met brown. The contact was short as an embarrassed Jaina looked into her glass and took a gulp.

Before the silence became uncomfortable, Jaina looked up again and asked, ?What are you doing here??

?As I said before I would be honored if you would share your gift with me,? Kyp said, avoiding her eyes.


Jaina sensing that something wasn?t right here, said, ?Noted. Try again.?

The man blinked unbelievably at the woman opposite him, `how the heck did she know??

A smile appeared on the brown haired woman?s lips, as she saw that he was surprised. ?Do you don?t think it is a bit unusual for you to show up in my room just to share a drink. So let me repeat it again. What are you doing here??

Kyp looked at the floor for a very long time, unsure what he should tell her. Jaina watched him quietly but was getting impatient with the stubborn Jedi Master. ?Are you going to tell me or have you just come to look at the carpet and tell me how nice it is??

His green eyes locked with hers for a short time. ?I am sorry,? he mumbled pushing himself out of the sofa. ?I should never have come here.? He walked toward the door but before he could open it he felt a small hand on his shoulders, trying to turn him around.

?Oh no, Kyp Durron. You?re not leaving that easily. You came here for a reason, so sit down and tell me. I have had enough of your games, your withdrawal from everyone and your remarks.? Jaina?s eyes sparkled with anger which over powered his stubbornness.

?Durron you have two options: number one, you leave through that door. I will tell you now; if you do that you will regret the day you were born. Option number 2 is to sit down again and tell me what you really want. That would be my preferred choice as it will make us friends again.?

The rogue Jedi eyes opened in surprise. He had thought she meant to kick him out.
`... friends again. Boy give it a try, it will be worth your while´ he encourag

 

He really likes that whiskey, huh?

 

He didn't leave. Good Sithie. Now tell Jaina that you love her.
