Generally, I saw the "them and us" business as a spat between a few members and the desire of people to move on. In hind sight that was cool.

I think it's generally agreed that both groups are welcome to post on both boards. Sure there were moments of "disagreement" and stupid acts on both parts but most have moved on.

Of course there will always be some who can't let things go and will continue to make digs but that's up to them and they are in the minority......

The important thing is that the SW community of fans in the UK grows and strengthens - this is more achievable with multiple sites and organisations. What would be cool, imo, is to have some form of affiliation of member groups. A Co-Op if you like. Where all groups support each other in the common goal of driving SW fandom in the UK to greater heights.

A place where FF-UK, FF-UK OFF, DeltaSource et al, and even BIFF can coperate when required and do their thing on their boards!

 

Its not gonna happen though, regardless of its admirable intentions. Prime reasons being that, whilst there are various different groups; these different groups have wildly diverse views on 'their' role in said 'community'. Some have no interest in meets. Some want meets every week. Some want SW RPG weekends. Some prefer to do other things than SW related things. Its been seen in this thread that even different groups have different views on how 'this' board should be run. So, in short. I dunno.

I dunno. The way I see it is that everything runs smoothly as long as neither:

a) ladyvader/amberstarbright
b) charis the wonder horse

are involved.


Actually - not so much an opinion as a matter of fact.

Everyone else / every other group has shown the intelligence and matureness to get along and communicate with each other, unlike these two.

 

I think thats a bit harsh. 'CentralServices' is not the only group thats 'jumped ship' in the last few weeks.
