A Conflict of Interest?

Looking through the Boards (specifically The Official Preachboy Discussion and Speculation Thread in Community: http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=988041&replies=16), I noticed something that was curious and not just a little strange:

What's the issue at hand here? Obviously, a conversation (within a thread) between PreacherBoy and an alias named Dave-Grohl.

What's the problem? Dave-Grohl is an alias for a banned member, IWMIL, aka Froggy, aka Kerry. This has since been confirmed.

He's banned. That is, he shouldn't be posting to the Boards under any alias.

*Fact: Kerry is a hockey fanatic.
*Fact: Most people at the JC know this.
*Fact: PreacherBoy, recognizing that Dave-Grohl was indeed Kerry, referred to said alias as a "hockey player".

Kerry is banned. PreacherBoy, being an Administrator, knows that he's banned. Why, then, does PreacherBoy, an Administrator, have an erstwhile conversation with Dave-Grohl, a new alias of a banned member?

Why didn't PreacherBoy, knowing it was Kerry, a banned member, ban him immediately?

These are questions that need to be answered. It seems that there is a blatant double-standard going on here.

The JC deserves to know why this continues to happen.

1. It was, indeed, Dave-Grohl's only post, because an administrator banned him immediately after that.

2. That administrator was NOT PreacherBoy.

3. I just believe that a system of checks and balances is never a bad thing. Blind loyalty and acceptance are exactly that, BLIND.

Good. I smell another conspiracy theory in the making. I haven't had enough good entertainment lately, but this should do the trick.

 

Mara, this isn't a conspiracy theory, just a question. A legitimate question at that, with evidence to back it up.

I'm disappointed that a well-respected Administrator such as you would come into this thread and have nothing to offer but sarcasm.

Let's stick to the issue at hand: why did PreacherBoy acknowledge Kerry's alias instead of banning him immediately?

Let's bring the accusations and insinuations out of the woodwork:

Did Preacherboy not ban a Kerry alias simply because Kerry is a friend?

Should admins be allowed to maintain their position, who have such a hard time separating their personal life from their adminships?

And, did we not argue all this before, but allow it to sink from nonchalance after Lord Chewy's "departure"?

 

Senator, I'm saying your theory doesn't hold ground. Dave-Grohl was banned a full 24 hours ago, shortly after his conversation with PB. All admins are currently banning all Legal aliases on sight, PB included. You're finding conspiracies where there are none.

 

I was the one who made the connection about the Dave-Grohl alias, and I alerted an admin, who was not PB, and the name was banned. This was some time, almost 20 minutes, after Kerry had posted and PB had responded. Which tell sme that PB did not ban the name, knowing full well who he was. If Kerry is supposed to be banned and not allowed to come back, then PB should have banned the name the minute he realized who he was. But he didn't, all we want is an explanation.

 

Why is anyone surprised by PB's inability to do his job consistantly?

Mara, I can appreciate where you're coming from, but I don't think that Senator DA created this thread with the intention to create a "conspiracy theory." It's a legitimate question. And it shows that some people here are often hypocritical.

 

Yes, if even PB is baning all of Kerry's aliaises on sight, then Dave-Grohl would have been banned immediatly, not 20 minutes later when I alerted a different admin.

 

The thing is.. conspiracy theories are usually *true*.

 

The PreacherBoy that responded in that thread was indeed PreacherBoy, and not Lord Chewy, so no need to worry about that. I checked the IPs.

Who knows, but I doubt it. The question probably is why hasn't he changed his password?

 

This is pretty weak. It doesn't even deserve a response by PB.

 

Kerry, I'm sure PB doesn't want you defending him, seeing as how you're the biggest troll around. PB will speak up for himself, if he feels it necessary.
