a continuity question from movies to books...

i just re-watched the original star wars trilogy and in ESB obi wan's spirit or what-not talks to yoda and mentions that he was reckless when yoda trained him, and also mentions that yoda trained him (when talking to luke).

in the PM, obi wan is with qui gon, and most of obi wan's adventures in the books (especially that one young reader's series) is with qui gon and doesn't seem like yoda trained him.

i haven't read everything so i could be wrong but it seems like a padawan is the one that gets trained, and obi wan was qui gon's padawan, so is it just a mistake or am i just confused.

Yoda trained Obi-Wan until the age of 13, when he was taken as a Padawan by Qui-Gon.
