SWRPF Archive ~~A Day That Will Live In Infamy~~ A WWII-SW RPG

Over a remote, unchartered planet an Imperial Star Destoryer crashes through the atmosphere. With a tremendous splash it crashes into the middle of the planet's largest ocean. On board is no other than Grand Admiral Thrawn himself. One hundred miles to the south of the crash site is a small tropic island and north from the crash site is another Imperial fleet, bering down on the small island. The date is December 6th, 1941.

With no engines, only a few thousand survivors and 2 wings of TIE fighters, Admiral Thrawn's Star Destoryer sits between the Imperial Japanese fleet and the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor.

~~NOTES~~

a) I need two good RPers to play the leader of the US Navy at Pearl Harbor(As a quiz you have to look him up and find out who he was ) and Admiral Thrawn.

b) The ISD is destoryed and is floating in the ocean, it's in bad shape so play it as so.

c) Make you characters realistic, no weird stuff. Play them that way. No Force users, etc.

d) Do not use derogatory racial terms. The supreme moddess will be most un-happy with you.

e) Only use:

Regular TIE fighters and TIE bombers for the Galactic Imperials.

P-40s, B-24s and other aircraft that were part of the US navy during that battle. No F4-Us, P-51s etc.

A6Ms, A5Ms, E13As, B5Ns, etc for the Imperial Japanese.

f) Each player may have 3 characters.

g) Post location, time, date and character at the begining of each post. A post can take no more time than 5 RPG minutes.

h) Use OCs for all characters except for historical leaders like admirals and captains.

Name: Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto
Age: 57
Faction: Imperial Japanese Navy
Position: Grand Admiral
Gender: Male

Isoroku Yamamoto was born in 1884. His original family name, Takano, was changed through adoption. Graduated from the Japanese Naval Academy in 1904, he was wounded in action during the Russo-Japanese War. Yamamoto attended the Naval War College during the "teens" and later studied at Harvard University. As a Captain, he served as Naval Attache to the United States in 1925-28. In the late 1920s and during the 1930s, he held a number of important positions, many of them involved with Japanese naval aviation.

Admiral Yamamoto commanded the Combined Fleet before the outbreak of the Pacific War and during its first sixteen months. He was responsible for planning the Attack on Pearl Harbor and most other major operations during this time.

Corin looked up into the air as the bombs began to drop, cursing and running from the side of the battleshipe he was on. He watched as his friends were sent flying into the air as shells dropped, unable to help them yet for they were still under attack. He managed to break through to one of the anti aircraft guns as he opened fire on the Japanese fighter plains. As he did though, his eyes caught sight of something huge falling from the sky like a commit and hitting the water.

Basicly his boat was near the SD when it crashed. After going over to "investigate" the scene, he was "recurited" into the Imperial army. His fishing vessel was converted into a warship.

Operating from the advanced base at Pearl Harbor, Kimmel led his fleet during the months of vigorous training that preceded the outbreak of the Pacific War. Relieved of his fleet command in mid-December 1941, following the the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Kimmel reverted to the rank of Rear Admiral.

IC: A Day That Will Live In Infamy...

:ecember 6th, 1941 1500hrs GMT, Pacific Ocean 79 miles northeast of Pearl Harbor

//Sunset on the islands of Hawaii. The sky is clear this Saturday evening, as the sunsets cast a golden glow over the ocean. Men in the United States armed forces mingle on the beaches and in the streets. Nothing could seem more peaceful. And nothing could be farther from the truth. Over 200 miles away the Imperial Japanese navy is berring down on the tiny islands, ready to launch the largest surprise attack in the history of warfare. Tomorrow would go down in the history books as a day that would live in infamy....

//But, fate may have other plans. Without warning the skies light up over the island with a massive burning hulk of twisted steel, falling out of space and streaking through the atmosphere of the planet Earth. The sun is overwelmed in apperance as the object cast a bright white light over the islands and the sea. Japanese saliors watch in awe, as do the hundreds of locals and soldiers based on the Hawaiian islands. The ground begins to tremble with the roar of the object. A massive jolt and clap of thunder fills the air for thousands of miles as the ship breaks through the sound barrier. The object almost has a shape to it. Long... Delta shaped... It slows down to where it looks like it's stopped above the water, then disapears from veiw. And the skies clear as the last few burning remains hit the ocean. Minutes later a massive crash is heard and then all is quiet except for a distant rumbling...

A beam had hit his head upon impact and a long red gash was drawn along his cheek and temple. The ships flotation devices kepted it afloat to a degree. For how long was the question...[/b]

He had watched the object burn through the sky, saw it disappear from view. Standing at his office window, he couldn't help but wonder what the object was.....

Kimmel had known the object was coming. An aerial recon looking for the Japanese fleet had seen it earlier that day. The white, triangular shaped craft was falling from the sky at an enormous rate. The recon group had then come in for refueling and the craft had crashed into the ocean. Keying his secretarie's intercom, he spoke quickly.

"Get Nimitz in here, pronto."
