The sudden ping of a homing signal startled the small furry creature sitting on the Wookiee's furry lap. Giving a squeak of distress, the small creature skittered off of its lap perch and ran under the control console.

"Well, well, we do not have to invite ourselves down. They are going to invite us."

The Wookiee hands danced once again over the control boards as they initiated a landing cycle.

 

Kayl: M'lady, the ship is landing. If they are friendly we'll have nothing to worry about, but if they aren't...I'll let nothing happen to you.

* he gets his blaster rifle ready *

 

Scene:
*Ghani Lyn Manka paces alone in the ruins of the Old Jedi Temple on Yavin.*

I sense a great disturbance in the Force. The Princess should have been here by now. I sense something awful has happened. I must try to find her ship...

*Ghani goes into her trusty X-Wing and takes off with her R2 unit in tow*

 

The Wookiee captain, with eyes closed in concentration, gently probed at the minds of the beings on the planet as the ship cycled thru its landing procedure.

The Wookiee's eyes then popped open as the furred one turned and sent a low growl thru the interior of the compact little ship. Two wooly quadrapeds loped into the command center.

"Hello you two." The Wookiee absently scratched the head of the beast closest to the captain's chair. Then growling a command out in a low gutteral voice the wookiee left the command center of the ship.

One of the four legged wooly beasts bounded into the vacant copilot's chair, as the other turned and loped off behind the rapidly striding wookiee.

"Well, let's see if our new 'friends' are friendly, now shall we?"

The Wookiee hit the control button on the hatch. The door began to cycle open.

 

Elise: Alright Kayl, it looks like we are going to need help getting off this planet so let me do the talking.

The princess exits the ship with Kayl behind her.

 

Kayl: Let me be in front of you M'Lady, who knows what danger, if there is any danger, will present itself. I told your father that I would protect you...and that's what I'm going to do.

*He walks in front of her and has his blaster rifle ready just in case*

 

Elise sighs and follows behind him

 

From the darkness of the hatchway - a 2 meter tall brown furred Wookiee came striding down the landing gangway, a small grey-furred eight-legged voorpak with a bright pink tongue hanging out from between small razor sharp teeth loped along behind the Wookiee.

Upon reaching the end of the ramp, the Wookiee stopped and made the universal gesture of peace, great hands outspread with palms face upward. The rumbling voice that issued from between the bright white canine teeth bore no hint of the infamous Wookiee temper or aggression.

"Greetings, gentlebeings. My name is Rrdkt. My sensors picked up your distress signal. As I am ......a trader, perhaps I have what is necessary to help you repair your ship... for the right price, of course."
The overtones of the metallic speech from the translater unit contrasted oddly with the barks and hoots that came from the Wookiee's furry throat.

 

Kayl lowers his blaster rifle and then whispers to the Princess.

Kayl: M'Lady, even though they say peace they can mean other things.

Kayl then walks up to the Wookiee.

Kayl: Greetings, My name is Kayl Fett, and this is Princess Elise Starkiller of the Empress Teta System

 

The Wookiee's gravelly voice barked out a greeting.

"Greetings, gentlebeings."

 

Princess Elise(stepping to front of Kayl): Greetings honorable Wookiee, The Empress Teta System would be most grateful for any assistance you can offer. This is my loyal bodyguard Kayl Fett; fear of my father can lead him to be over protective me.

 

Kayl eyes the Princess and then nods to the Wookiee

 

*Ghani is in her X-wing and through the Force senses the Princess on the planet below..."

Okay, R2 we're going to see what happened here. I don't sense any strong feelings of distress but you never know.

*grabs lightsaber*

we'll be ready for anything...

*Ghani begins the landing cycle and desends onto the planet below*

 

The large Wookiee makes a gesture of welcoming into the small freighter.

"If you know which parts you need, then I would be most happy to check my inventory and see what I might currently have in stock."

Turning on one foot, the Wookiee's long strides eat up the distance up to the ship's hatch. As the Wookiee reaches the top of the ramp, a shrill alarm pierces thru the tropical vegetation. The Wookiee looks back at the Princess and the bodyguard with raised brows.

"Well, it seems that someone else has responded to your distress signal and is on approach right now."

A large hairy paw reaches up to the bandolier belt criss-crossing the hairy chest and presses a small green button. The whine of servo-motors denotes a battery of small, powerful cannons which raise up from an antenna dome on the top of the ship.

"Being a trader, I find that it never pays to not be careful."

The Wookiee's lips peel back and the ensuing grin shows two very sharp upper canine teeth. The voopak, silently trailing behind its master up until now, suddenly sits, raises its hackles, and begins to emit a soft growl.

 

Elise: Nice kitty

 

*Kayl sees the powerful cannons which raise up from the antenna dome on the top of the Wookiee's ship*

Kayl: I'm impressed

Kayl turns to the Princess

Kayl: M'lady, with all do respect I suggest you get back into the ship and wait for my ok to come back out.

 

Ghani: Start the landing sequences R2. We're going down. Let me try to make contact with our friends down there.

*adjusts radio*

Greetings. I am Master Jedi Ghani Lyn Manka. I have come in answer to a distress signal from Princess Elise. Please repond.

 

Repeating: anyone within the sound of my voice...this is Ghani Lyn Manka of the Jedi Order. Is anyone there?

 

Kayl: Ghani Lyn Manka, this is Kayl Fett, loyal bodygaurd for Princess Elise Starkiller of the Empress Teta System. We are glad to hear from you.

 

Mr. Fett, I'm glad to hear from you. I have your exact location and I'll be down shortly. I'm eager to help and to hear the story that brought me out here. Manka out.

 

Kayl: We'll see you down here.

 

Standing in the shadows looms a hidden figure.....Rindar thinks to himself: Could these beings be friend or foe? But after his last betrayal he decides to wait and see what happens as the incoming ship lands

 

*Ghani's ship lands on the planet. Her X-wing opens to reveal the Jedi and out hobbles an R2 droid behind her. As she exits and climbs down the ladder she senses a dark presence near. She keeps on alert as she approaches the Princess.*

Greetings, Princess. I am Ghani Lyn Manka of the Jedi Order. I have been sent here to protect you and see you get to Coruscant safely.

*presses hands and bows*

I am at your service, Princess.

 

I am most grateful for the assistance Master Jedi.

 

*Ghani surveys the landscape...notices the savage Wookiee smuggler...*
