Enga said ?Obi-Wan get down on that stretcher. You are a distraction to that mother viewing her baby.?

Yoda said ?distraction he is always. Helping me he is viewing Kynstar?s little girl he is. Shining with the Force she is.?

    Mace said ?come Yoda?

Yoda left Obi-Wan and crawled using his three fingered hands and feet upwards until he was perched atop of Mace?s shoulder.

    Mace said ?you are heavy.?

Yoda said ?size matters not. Great viewingplatform you are.?

Obi-Wan sat down on the stretcher and the three healers covered him again with the blankets.
He asked ?where are my clothes??

Enga said ?oops, they are still in that closet.?

Kynstar sat up in bed as her master strode into the room. Her husband had been here earlier and left, thankfully, before this. He had never met the Count, and she didn't know what he would think.

Dooku turned, a thoughtful and somewhat sad expression darkening his velvet brown eyes, and regarded her for a moment. "I have seen your child. She is a beautiful baby, as is her mother. Congratulations, apprentice."

"Master ... I knew you were here, and I was so worried, about the baby and what was going to happen. Where were you?"

The gurney was pushed back to the closet with Mace taking great strides and Yoda hanging on to Mace?s back.

Obi-Wan gave a relieved smile when he saw his clothes stashed neatly on a shelf and he began to dress himself. He asked ?Master Enga, where did you put my boots??

Master Enga said ?on that bottom shelf.?

On the bottom shelf were a pair of green plastiform shoes with little holes in them.

Yoda said ?hurry we must, go to Kynstars room. Sense a dark presence.?

Mace said ?Obi-Wan no time to search for your boots. Put on whatever is standing there.?

Obi-Wan said ?I am not wearing those.?

Yoda said ?comfortable they are, have seen them worn in healer?s ward and swimmingpool?

A muttering Obi-Wan donned the shoes and said softly ?they are not pink like those ladies shoes but this, this is ridiculous: Yoda feet?

Yoda said ?make fun of me hmm? Young Obi-Wan. Feet matter not.?

The Jedi left again the closet.

    "Uh oh."

Lea El and Henry ducked back behind the corner. After much searching, they had finally found Yoda and the other Jedi. Unfortunately, so had a couple of hospital security persons. Yoda, Mace, three Jedi in healer's robes and Obi-Wan wearing green booties and holding the back of a hospital gown closed over his backside.

    "Now what?" Henry asked.

Lea El risked another peek. Mace was waving a hand before the two men in security uniforms and they were looking a bit confused.

"It looks like they might get out of it," she said hopefully. It was getting very late, well past visiting hours, but Kynstar's room was just down the hall.

Henry peeked, too. "Didn't they have balloons?" he asked.

The guards were moving away now, their expressions unfocused.

Unfortunately a caped and unmistakable figure appeared at the end of the hall, coming out of Kyn's room.

    "AAaaaaaaaaauuuuugggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!"

The Force surged, and so did Yoda, hurtling his small body in a multi-somersault leap down the hall. His green lightsaber activated as he faced the Dark Lord. Count Dooku drew his lightsaber, the blade casting its crimson light on the pastel walls and the linoleum flooring.

The other Jedi in the group followed with lightsabers all around. Even Obi-Wan.

Lea El groaned. She was just never going to get to see Kyn. And get Yoda back to that swamp. The hospital guards were now taking a renewed interest in the Jedi-Sith confrontation, though one of them seemed to be distracted by Obi-Wan's open hospital robe.

    "Now what?" Henry asked. Again.

Dooku looked into his faithful apprentice's eyes with a tender fondness Kynstar had never seen. And then, with an abashed look, he stared down at his boots. Finally he looked up, opened his mouth ... and she knew the words he was about to say would be of no little import.

Suddenly his head whipped around, his lightsaber in his hand. "Jedi!" he snapped. He spun on his heel and disappeared.

Kyn crossed her arms over her chest, angry. If they were coming to see her, did they really think she wanted them attacking her beloved Master in the corridor? Was she going to have to drag herself out of bed, weak from childbirth, and beg them to stop fighting? What if her Master got hurt?

In the corridor, Obi-Wan Kenobi leaped forward to join Yoda -- and his foot slid out from under him on the gleaming hospital tiles. He spun out in a most undignified fashion, sliding all the way to the very boots of the Count, who found himself with a view of the young Jedi's backside, unobstructed by fabric.

The Count raised a black eyebrow, and struggled to suppress the smile that tugged at one corner of his mouth.

But Dooku's amusement was instantly quashed by the appearance of his former apprentice. The transparent one.

    Qui-Gon silently tsk-tsk-ed over Obi-Wan's exposed backside.

An evil, Sith-ish smile slowly curled Dooku's lips. Extinguishing his saber, he folded his arms and ignored the menacing Yoda and Mace on the other side of Obi-Wan.

"Why Master Kenobi, surely you can do better," Dooku appraised. One of the Jedi healers snickered. Qui-Gon looked annoyed.

"I seem to recall that your master had a much better exercised bum. And better presented."

Qui-Gon's expression changed to horror. Obi-Wan had turned his face, red faced with embarrassment, to Dooku. His expression suddenly changed to interest. Qui-Gon waved for Dooku to shut up, but since no one else could see him, the Count ignored him.

"Yes, if there was any naked Padawan business going on in the Temple, young Qui-Gon was sure to be in the middle of it."

Qui-Gon waved his blue-ghostie hands through Dooku's face, but other than a slight tickle, it had no effect.

"Difficult that one was," Yoda said, shaking his head. His large green eyes now looked just to Dooku's left......where Qui-Gon was. Could they see him? the Count wondered.

Clutching the edges of his hospital gown together, Obi-Wan hastily stood. Two hospital officials now stood with them looking from Dooku to Obi-Wan to the Jedi, apparently unsure of who was the bigger problem.

Master Aaqu was holding Obi-Wan?s tunics hidden under his healer?s robes and Enga had his pants and cloak hidden in her folds, giving her the appearance of a rather fat and lumpy nurse.

Kaagi muttered ?why did he have to don another pair of those hospital gowns?

Enga snickered ?because of that white-haired menace. And as always Obi-Wan to the rescue. What I don?t understand why he did pick those gowns. He doesn?t like white ones with yellow ducks on them at all.?

Aaqu said ?at least this gown is long and not that revealing.?

Kaagi said ?only if he keeps that back shut.?

Enga said ?and those green crocs didn?t help on that slippery floor at all. What to do with Dooku.??

Qui-Gon smiled when he saw master Kaagi and whispered ?make some Smileys.?

"What?" Lea El asked. "You don't mean that stuff Yoda wanted?"

    Qui-Gon smiled enigmatically and nodded.

"Henry, give me your backpack." Lea El's friend obligingly put his very large bear down next to the wall, turned around and slid his large pack off so Lea El could take it. The bear had been their afterthought gift for Kyn. Their real mission before arriving at the hospital had been an odd shopping errand for Master Yoda.

Out came crinkly blue, semi-transparent plastic bags. The lady at the check-out seemed to think that each item needed its own separate bag. And on each bag was inscribed the legend, "WAL-MART - Another ROLL BACK To Save You More!" And each 'O' on the 'ROLL' of this tired advertising slogan was a big yellow happy-faced smiley.

Down the hall, Mace Windu and Count Dooku seemed to have called a momentary truce while escorting some bewildered looking hospital guards to a utility closet. Obi-Wan had his back to the wall.

Crinkle, crinkle, crinkle went the plastic as Lea El unwrapped each thing. Fuzzy slippers. Flip-flops. Galoshes. Slip on shoes. All of them a bright, brilliant red.

The three healers looked at each other, completely baffled. They were even more baffled when Qui-Gon asked one of them to put a pair on. Kaagi obliged. Taking his own boots off and putting on a pair or golashes.

"Now, just click your heels together and say three times, 'There's no space like home.' The three healers stared back at the Force ghost. But Qui-Gon kept smiling at them until Kaagi did it.

    Pop!

Kaagi suddenly vanished from the hallway.

"Hmmmm," Yoda grumbled approvingly, now standing with them in the hallway. "Return we must, to the Temple, when done this mission is."

    Henry frowned.

"That's the wrong movie," he commented.

Obi-Wan saw Aaqu donning some of the red things and grumped ?don?t leave me with her master Aaqu? Kaagi is already gone to the temple and she likes to pester me with her cold hands.?

Aaqu said ?you can join us when you like. He had donned the flip flops and holding his boots in one hand he clicked his heels together and said three times 'There's no space like home.'

    Pop!

Aaqu suddenly vanished from the hallway

Obi-Wan muttered ?there we go again? as Enga offered him a pair of red shoes.

Enga said ?don?t be fussy Obi-Wan? and she picked up the fussy slippers and put them on ?red shoes match perfectly with that hospitalgown with yellow ducks?

Obi-Wan said ?I am glad it?s not a yellow dress like that other time.?

Qui-Gon said ?but this gown is far more revealing.?

Obi-Wan said ?yeah and you were looking gorgeous with that platinum blonde hair, suntanned complexion and purple robes with bright blue trimmings."

Qui-Gon said "put those red shoes on padawan."

Obi-Wan put them on and said "again too small for my feet"

Yoda said ?size matters not Obi-Wan."

Enga said "I will take care of the blisters"

Obi-Wan said "yeah cold rubber gloved hands again. I am looking forward to it."

Yoda said "bickering stop it must. Return to the temple we must? and he picked up the last pair of red shoes

"But Master Yoda!" Obi-Wan exclaimed, gesturing toward where Mace Windu and Count Dooku were now squaring off in the hospital hallway. Obi-Wan's lightsaber was activated and his back was still to the wall.

Yoda sighed. A long throaty sigh of very put-upon air let out of an ancient Jedi master who talks backwards.

"The right time, this is not."

Yoda picked up huge pair of fuzzy slippers, apparently set aside for Mace Windu, but underneath was an extra-extra-large pair of flip-flops. The short green master stumped forward on his gimer stick. Dooku and Windu were striking poses at each other, their lightsaber artfully held aloft at threatening angles.

Grunting and clutching the red slippers which were half as tall as he was, Yoda made his way between the two would-be combatants. Dooku backed up warily. Yoda plopped the slippers before him.

"Go you must. In this world you cannot stay. Or disturb the one you came to see." Yoda said solemnly, but his smile looked far too smug to Dooku.

"You must be joking," he scoffed. "And end up in your Temple, a prisoner of the Jedi."

Yoda shook his head and his long ears slowly from side to side.

"Your own loyalties, these will reveal. To your true master they will take you. If to the Temple you go....hope perhaps there is." Yoda looked sad--sadder than he usually did--as he said this last part. He did not expect much in the way of results.

But Dooku had no intention of appearing before Darth Sidious in an enormous pair of fuzzy pink slippers. He raised his saber. Windu tensed, his dark eyes anticipating.

    "And if I refu--"

Yoda suddenly rolled forward with a choked 'Aaaaaauggghhh!' and suddenly he was under Dooku's defenses and behind the Count.

The situation drastically changed, Dooku looked back and forth between green and purple lightsabers now on either side of him. Then down at the slippers. Then toward the door that led to his favorite apprentices room. He could make it, but he would bring the fight with him, and he had specifically left her side to keep the confrontation away from her.

He looked down at the slippers again. Big and hairy and red they were. Yoda and Mace Windu did not let their guard down as Dooku dexterously removed his tall boots and tucked them under his arm, all the while keeping his red lightsaber ready. He cautiously poked an elegant toe into one fuzzy opening.

He scowled, standing there in those long-haired slippers. They were quite comfy, but he was not about to let that interrupt his bad mood. His old apprentice appeared before him, blue and ghosty and transparent.

Dooku stared in surprise. Qui-Gon held own his boots and a similar pair of fuzzy slippers covered his big feet. They were a grayish shade of blue that might have hinted of being metaphorically red if Qui-Gon were capable of being anything other than blue. Of course, the concept of 'Force slippers' made no sense but Qui-Gon had managed it somehow anywhere.

"There's no space like home," Dooku growled. The green and purple lightsabers stayed at the ready.

Qui-Gon mouthed the same words, his voice had gone soft and echo-y.

"There's no space like home," Dooku repeated. At least with Qui-Gon gone to the Temple he wouldn't be haunting Dooku for awhile.

Qui-Gon echoed him and he started to fade as if he was already on his way.

"Take me to my true master, they will." he said softly with a certain familiar and boyish smile that Dooku hadn't seen in a very long time.

"There's no space like home," Dooku finished, his voice suddenly a hoarse whisper.

    Pop!

    They vanished.

Mace Windu scowled, obviously disappointed by being denied the chance to fight a Sith Lord, and extinguished his saber along with Yoda. They rejoined the others. Obi-Wan and Enga already had on their red shoes. Yoda's flip-flops were next to Windu's. Mace Windu started to take off his own boots.

"To the Temple?" Lea El asked shyly, holding a pair of bright red flip flops.

"When ready you are," Yoda replied with a smile and an enigmatic

?There is Kynstar?s room? Enga said.

Obi-Wan whispered ?but look that nurse?

Yoda said ?not looking she is. Follow her I will?

Yoda tip tapped on his small shoes to Kynstar?s room and scowled ?size matters? The two flip-flops went sailing and Yoda?s ears turned up cheerfully.

Mace said ?you cannot disappear anymore?

Yoda said ?carry me Obi-Wan will? and he used his sharp three fingered hands and feet to climb onto Obi-Wan?s shoulder.

Obi-Wan said ?my feet are hurting. When can we go back to the temple??

Enga said ?after seeing Kynstar and saying farewell. And you know I will take care of your feet.?

Obi-Wan said ?another visit to your ?torture? ward. I love it? and he walked the short distance to Kynstar?s room.

Enga, Lea El and Mace followed him and when they came to the door Obi-Wan got a very red face.

Lea El giggled and Enga just rolled her eyes when Henry, Mace, Obi-Wan and Yoda suddenly took and interest in the walls and floor of the room.

"What's this?" the breast feeding training nurse asked? But Kyn assured her that they were friends and expected. And she asked for a moment of privacy. The nurse left, glaring at the newcomers.

Her hospital gown back in place, the new mother held the new baby so they could see and received a suitably appreciative chorus of 'aaaaaawwww's. They crowded around for a closer look and after some pointed inquiries, confessed to their exploits in the hospital.

"He's not lost," she said, cradling the baby, after they had told her about Dooku's departure.

"Difficult to tell, the future is," Yoda said, shaking his head.

"That's vague enough to cover everything," Henry commented, while everyone else just shrugged or shook their heads, agreeing with Yoda.

Soon the time for visiting came to an end (the nurse had said that she would only give them 20 minutes) and first Enga then Mace stood at attention and clicked heels of their red shoes to, 'There's no space like home.'

    Pop! They were gone.

Yoda used his seniority to be the last to go, sitting on Obi-Wan's shoulders since the elderly Jedi Master's clawed feet did not fit even the widest pair of slippers. Lea El was teary eyed, looking down at her own red shoes that she would use when she 'was ready'.

"May the Force be with you," Obi-Wan said cheerfully in his duck-decorated hospital gown. Enga had not given him his clothes back before leaving.

    Click, click, click.

    "There's no space like home."

"The Force is strong with this one," Yoda said, nodding toward the squirming little bundle, obviously impatient for the nurse to return and continue with the lessons.

    Click, click, click.

    "There's no space like home."

    "I know," Mom agreed.

    Click, click, click.

    "There's no space like home."

    POP!

And indeed I have enjoyed it!!! [face_love]

[:D] Thanks so much you guys!! I truly loved it! Talk about making my day!! I needed a good chuckle and this was so great!

It has been a rough 2.5 mths, but things are getting on track and I'm a heckuva lot better than I was say a month ago! Little one was great thru it all, juz her first day was a little shaky cuz they had to put her on oxygen for about half the day, but she weened off of it and did great afterward. I was the only one have complications [face_laugh] thru out the last 3 weeks of pregnancy she was doing find in the womb, juz lil ole me was having a rough time [face_laugh] Which if I could do it again, I'd prefer that than having her have the problems. Let's juz say it was a lil scary for me! [face_worried] I'd never spent the night in a hospital before and...man staying 3 weeks was not fun! [face_not_talking] No not at all!

But I'm better now and (juz waiting for internet; doing this at the library) hopefully soon I'll be able to play 'catch up' with all the stories I (once more unfortunately) got behind on. Folks who I read their stories, please don't give up on me and PM as much as you can so I can have links to the stories for quick access. THANKS!!

Once again thank you for your time in doing this! [face_dancing] [face_love] [:D] =D=
