I forgot all about this and sorry if its been talked about a lot already. Back in the days, like the mid 80s, I remember people say there was a ghost in the Falcon. (Kind of like the ghost myth in 3 men and a baby). Anyway, it happens right after they escape Mos Eisely. It shows everyone in the back of the Falcon, but then shows Han and Chewy in the cockpit. However in one clips, someone is walking out behind Han. Now, I am sure this was just a edited clip taken from another part of the movie (maybe the "Go strap yourself in" scene) but back in the day it was a funny look thing to talk about. Anyone noticed it? I see its still in the blu-ray so maybe Lucas and his people never noticed it either. Here a video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-_Jg0-ybhI
It's too solid and yellow to be a ghost. I was expecting a shadow figure. It's probably a stagehand leaving the Falcon set. He/she's likely wearing a yellow jacket. EDIT: I did a search and I didn't get anything referring to a ghost inside the Falcon cockpit. EDIT II: I've heard about myths like the "Ghost in Three Men and a Baby" and the "Munchkin Hanging", but never this.
Well that's a new one. Obviously a crew member, probably went unnoticed for years due to it being on the edge of the picture & not visible in 4:3. True, in which case it might be Obi-Wan, but if it was a case of taking a clip from somewhere else by necessity, you'd think they'd have noticed when they picked it. Then again, a lot of this stuff probably is noticed & the filmmakers just decide to live with a barely noticeable error in order to get the otherwise best shot/performance. The focus in this shot is clearly on Han. The 'Munchkin Hanging' is apparently a bird in the background of the set, the 'ghost' in Three Men & A Baby was a cardboard promotional cutout from another film that somehow ended up on the set, folded in half & jammed out of the way. The coolest one of these bloopers is that of the crew member who could be glimpsed crouching behind Laura Palmer's bed in Twin Peaks - David Lynch worked the blooper into the storyline as a memory & cast the crew member as the psychotic killer Bob! Being Star Wars, where every single background character gets a backstory & sometimes even action figures, this 'ghost' in the Falcon could well receive the same treatment. A Shaman Of The Whills, perhaps?
its amazing how many times I have seen Star Wars and can always find smething new. Like I did not notice the big 94 on the wall in the hanger (hanger bay 94) until about a year ago
It's Obi Wan walking away, because it's the end of the shot where he says "go strap yourselves in." But yeah, still fun to notice.
you always notice things. Just yesterday I noticed the following -Wedges afterburners light up red after he shoots at the core of the second death star, turns around the sphere and flies out. -Anakin's light sabre does not make a noise when he fights Dookoo in ROTS.
Until the deleted scenes for Empire were released with the blu-rays I'd never noticed the medical droid in echo base investigating the dead taun-taun when Han goes to search for Luke. I was always watching Han's conversation with the Rebel officer.
I notice little things from time to time. Remember when Luke was knocked out by the Sandpeople and Ben was checking him over? The Landspeeder is in the background. There's a strange hole in the rock and carved into the rock are symbols of some kind. I can't find a pic of it, but it's there.
