Ok, I'm online tonight talking to friends about how great the Celebration is going to be and a thought popped into my head.

In the Social Thread, I posted that someone should look into having one of the clubs having a Star Wars night...people in Costume, SW music...maybe Max Rebo playing...or whatever...

BUT, Then you'd have to deal with outsiders who just dont get it, fights happen(NO BLASTERS!) and BOOM, thats it...end of party.

What I am proposing is that we get together, a few responsible folks and organize a party at one of the Hotels. A Star Wars Party...everyone in costume(keep in mind, you can go as something as simple as a Coruscant club patron or as detailed as a Stormtrooper) In fact, Stormtroopers patrolling the Party(501st...are you reading this? LOL) Jedi's protecting their "Princess'", "Queen's" or "Senators"...Aleins walking about...droids walking amongst everyone...wookies, Imperial Officers... THE WHOLE BALL OF WAX!!! BUT... here's the really fun part...

We role play throughout the party! Create a name for yourself, a history, a planet of origin... something that at the 3RD Celebration could be expanded upon...

Is anyone interested in something this... does TF.N want to help organize such a Party? Is there a Fan Club Rep intersted in helping with this? It could be really cool and I think a great deal of fun for everyone and something we'll never forget!

EDIT: The one thing that would make this special is that we CREATE our own Characters... asside from the Stormtroopers and other assorted characters...I suggest there be NO ObiWans or Anakins walking around... be creative with that aspect... create a whole background and for ONE night...stay in character act... Filmmakers, shoot your fan film in the party for fun...everyone will be in character... maybe plan the party for after the Concert Friday or on sat evening when I think nothing else is planned.

Yeah getting a club on a weekend night to do that wouldn't be possible in Indy I think. You might want to talk to SkylaFett about incorporating something like that into the Fan Force Party. I think it would be fun. :)

What TDH is suggesting is different from what the Fan Force party is putting together.
This is all roleplay - a great idea - the Fan Force party is just a gathering of people.
Unless Fan Force makes this their plan, these should be 2 seperate parties.
TDH - If you want to pursue this, I'd like to help plan it with you. I have ideas.
    PM me.

I think an all-roleplay party might be a bit much for some fans. Besides, I doubt that most people going to the Celebration will be going in costume (or even have one at all). That could make an all-costume/all-roleplay party pretty limited.

Regardless, I'm sure that more than just the FanForce party will be going on over the weekend. There will likely be lots of hotel-hopping and informal parties/gatherings all over the place!

yeah I have a feeling, being the social butterfly I am, that Starbucks is going to be my best friend that whole week.

Eh I did it a couple of weeks ago, I can do it again. I'm still...relatively...young!

    Heh, Starbucks rules! :D

I think the role play party is a good idea. I already have a character. :D

Sounds like all those who are staying at a hotel are going to be having fun. I hope the people that are staying at the bed and breakfast that I'm going to be staying at are as much fun as you guys are! :D

I think this is a great idea, but my husband isn't going to dress up and I don't think he'd be too thrilled if I said "se ya, I'm going to a party and you can't come".

I would dig the party personally myself. I've never done live roleplaying, always M roleplaying. And I too have a character. Shara!

Hey JarJarJedi, ar eyou staying in that B&B in downtown Indy? I always thought it was weird to have a B&B in the downtown area. but hey cool.

And Starbucks is fine, despite the one closest to my place was protested the other day. There is a Starbucks coffe bar at ICC btw.

another thing we should do is, if i am correct in assuming we will have name tags, write our tf.n name and TF.N next to it. for example:

    Myn Donos, TF.N

    See, Here's Moff's problem...

He does probably THE BEST impersonation of Palpatine(ROTJ) I've ever heard, he has a cloak and I myself would wittle the man a walking stick and paint it black to have him walk around, face hidden in a party, escorted by the 501st and a Darth Vader, watching him work the room as the Emperor...but He's not as into the idea of something as cool as this... I think as, apparently others do, it would be a killer idea. Hopefully someone will have such a party.

Shara, my mom and I are staying at The Tranquil Cherub, which they said is about 20 blocks (north) from the convention center.

You should stop by for a visit! :D :D

He he... I've only had Starbucks about 5 times in my life... but it's good. :) They serve just the basic Starbucks coffee at The University of Akron.

    LOL @ TDHArtist!

Flattery will get you nowhere. :D

Don't get me wrong... I like the idea. I'm sure a lot of people will come to the FanForce party (and any other, for that matter) in costume. And in a sense, we'll all be in character. But at the FanForce party, at least, it'll be nice getting to meet the real people behind the user names and icons we've been talking to for days/weeks/months/years.

I am a someone who plays role playing games and I personally would prefer a non-role playing party. If one was going on, I wouldn't squelch at it though. I'd probably go. But I think the "official" FanForce party should be a little less structured in activity. Maybe a trivia game or something like that. Maybe Star Wars charades or pictionary. But not much more. If you want to organize an RPG party TDHArtist, cool.
