    I guess that's a bit of Anakin/Padme.

He paid the ultimate price for his failures.

That is exactly the way I've always felt Vader reconciled Anakin Skywalker - with scorn and a touch of pity. Yet another lost Jedi whose failures brought about the end of the order. I don't think Vader would ever have claimed responsibility for their downfall, rather he would have justified it by saying that they brougt it upon themselves (and perhaps they did by missing so badly with Anakin).

Your comparison of all the physical objects was excellent. They illustrate the stages of Anakin's life so well! The last part with the Japor snippet alludes so clearly to the regret we assume he is feeling over his choices and mistakes.

Of course he does, Anakin still lives inside there. Somewhere...

SilSolo A little bit of everything.

Reihla Thank you! I'm flattered you liked this. Of course now we know that japor snippet was buried with Padme! What a waste for the fan fiction world! :p

    So he does have feelings....@};-
I feel quite sorry for him, those objects are physical reminders of his failures, I mean,
    · he destroyed the jedi order :_|
    · he is to blame in a roundabout way ( more in a direct way) of his wife's death [face_worried]
    · he was that child until he messed things up

He brought all that pain in himself, and I feel sorry for him, but I do not excuse his actions

I love it when one of your older pieces gets upped so I can discover it.

So sad and so touching...it's very telling that he keeps these things, despite the pain they bring him. Almost as if he's still trying to hold onto his humanity; only when he touches them, he's reminded of how far he's fallen.

    Lovely.

I, too, am grateful when something of yours gets brought back to the top so I can read it! It's a treasure chest of my own!

Goodness gracious, this was angsty! (Of course, you know that means I loved it). What really got me all teary was the idea of the wedding ring. Oh! I can hardly type it without sniffling. :_|

I really like the idea of Vader holding on to things from his life as Anakin Skywalker. Such a discreet way to depict his flashes of humanity.

    Beautiful viggie. Just beautiful!

    Snif...blubber...bawl... :_| WAAAAAAAH!!!

Interesting, how Vader insists he has no interest in "Anakin," but always has to revisit his things...

(off to get yet another tissue box) :_|

Wow, so lovely and sad! =D= I liked that Obi-Wan gave Anakin the river stone, and Vader kept it with the other objects. Shows how important it was to Anakin, even as Vader keeps himself dissociated with Anakin. I think he can't help but still feel connected though, keeping those objects. Wonderful viggie!

I'm glad someone found this and upped it as well. This was wonderful VL! So sad and painful for Vader. I agree with the others that although he may deny it there is still some Anakin in Vader just like what was discovered in RotJ. Simply beautiful VL! [face_love]
