Disclaimer: All belongs to The first Force-User, George Lucas. I'm just improving it. Also, thanks to Alain Boublil for the song and lyrics.
Subject Luke sings to his father as Anakin dies.

    Vader was dead.

    As was the Emperor.

Anakin lived, but in turn was dying. He knew that from the moment he had hurled the Emperor down the reactor shaft, lightning bolts raining down on his helmet, he would die.

But he had done it. The galaxy was free. And for that he was grateful.

He lay there a moment, basking in the love that was flowing through him, from the Force, welcoming him back, and?from another, lying beside him.

Slowly, his attention was attracted to the young man lying collapsed beside him, exhaustion written all over his youthful features.

Luke, Anakin sent through the Force. Luke!

Father? The young man sent back, is?is that really you?
Yes, my son. It is I, Anakin sent.

Luke silently sent to his father, you know, Aunt Beru had a saying; the rain makes the flowers grow. She said it came from a song, and I?ve just realised what it was.

Suddenly awash in pain, Anakin groaned. He knew his time was near.

?Luke?,? Anakin coughed out loud ?please...sing me the song, in the little time I have left.?

?Of course,? Luke replied, struggling to his knees, so he could look at the no-longer-terrifying visage of his father.

Quietly, amongst the wreckage and explosions happening all around him, Luke began to sing.

    Don't you fret, M'sieur Marius
    I don't feel any pain
    A little fall of rain
    Can hardly hurt me now
You're here, that's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
And rain will make the flowers grow.

But you will live, 'Ponine - dear God above,
If I could heal your wounds with words of love.

Just hold me now, and let it be.
    Shelter me, comfort me

You would live a hundred years
If I could show you how
    I won't desert you now...

The rain can't hurt me now
This rain will wash away what's past
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
I'll sleep in your embrace at last.

The rain that brings you here
    Is Heaven-blessed!
    The skies begin to clear
    And I'm at rest
A breath away from where you are
I've come home from so far
So don't you fret, M'sieur Marius

    I don't feel any pain
    A little fall of rain
    Can hardly hurt me now

That's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close

    Hush-a-bye, dear Eponine,
    You won't feel any pain
    A little fall of rain
    Can hardly hurt you now
    I'm here

    I will stay with you
    Till you are sleeping

    And rain...

    And rain...
    Will make the flowers...
    Will make the flowers... grow...

?Luke,? Anakin whispered, ?that was beautiful. It reminded me of your mother. But?I have one last request??

    ?Anything,? the young man promised

?Luke, help me take this mask off.?

?But?but, you'll die?? murmured the miserable youth.

?Nothing can stop that now. Just for once?let me look on you with my own eyes.?

Slowly, hesitantly, Luke removed the mask from his father's face.
There beneath the scars was a man that looked far older than his 45 years. His eyes wouldn?t focus.
But the dying man smiled at the sight before him.

Weakly, Anakin whispered ?Now...go, my son. Leave me.?

Frantically, Luke looked around. The shuttle was only a few meters away! He had to save his father, and claimed ?No. You're coming with me. I can't leave you here. I've got to save you.?

Anakin murmured, his eyes drifting shut, as the pain overwhelmed him, ?You already have, Luke. You were right about me. Tell your sister...you were right.?

Tears pouring down his cheeks, Luke whispered ?Father... I won't leave you.?

    And Anakin Skywalker died.

I'll be doing more songfics in the future, if this one gets good replies.

OOOh, I liked the introduction. Very good, very in key with the moment.

The one thing I would say is maybe incorporate the song more into what they were feeling (good job making it tie with Luke, though, that's clever), divide the song into pieces?

It's a little hard to swallow all at once.

    Good job!
