Welcome to the Crossover Index!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the Starship Enterprise ended up in the middle of the Battle of Yavin? Or if Fred and George Weasley happened to be Force-sensitive (the horror! )? Or if the TARDIS randomly got stuck on Alderaan?

Oh, the possibilities!

Well, you?ve come to the right place! This index and discussion thread is specifically for crossovers. A crossover (commonly abbreviated as X-over) is a fic that takes characters and situations from one fandom (i.e. Star Wars) and brings them into contact with characters and situations from another fandom. These fandoms could be anything from Star Trek and Harry Potter to The Lion King and The Little Shop of Horrors.

While some crossovers have characters from two different fandoms actually meeting (i.e. say Anakin Skywalker and Harry Potter), others take the plot and characteristics of a fandom and put it into Star Wars terms.

All of the fanfics listed in this index are sorted by era and then are listed alphabetically by title.

The old Crossover Index, managed by Diamond_Revelation, can be found HERE. The new index is managed by Diamond_Revelation and Idrelle_Miocovani.

Unlike the last crossover index, we will not be accepting Earth crossovers, as Earth by itself isn?t a fandom.

Also, we will be having discussions from time to time on a variety of topics and will also be holding challenges! Exciting, isn?t it?

Challenge One: ?What Planet Did You Say You Were From?? (11/3/07)

1. Take ONE character from Star Wars and write a scene where he/she meets ONE character from another fandom, be it Doctor Who, Stargate, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Firefly, The Lion King, Dracula, The Lord of the Rings? whatever!
2. The scene MUST be written only in DIALOGUE!
3. It must include the following five words: intellectual, shebang, orientation, machete, camouflage.
4. There is no word limit.
5. It can be any genre, written in any era!

Challenge Two: "Sequels" (12/1/07)

1. Choose one of the Star Wars films. If you choose a film that is earlier in the Saga, you can disregard all of the things that happen after it. If you choose a film near the end, keep in mind everything that has happened before it. So, if you choose The Phantom Menace, ignore everything that happens in Attack of the Clones and the other films. If you choose Return of the Jedi, nothing can contradict canon from the PT films, ANH and ESB.
2. Select two films/musicals/books/plays from the following list: Alice in Wonderland, 300, Sweeney Todd, Much Ado About Nothing, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Pride and Prejudice
3. Take your two selections from the list above and the Star Wars film you chose. Now, write a fic that can act as a sequel to all three films/musicals/plays/books. It can be any genre. 750 word minimum.

Extra points if you include a scene where the dialogue consists only of quotes from your selections.

Hi, I'm Idri and I'm one of the thread's managers.

Um... because I manage it? And I'm trying to stir some interest in crossovers?

3. Do you like crossovers, do you hate them, or do you find them "bleh" and have no real opinion about them?

My opinion on crossovers has changed over the years. At first I hated them because I found them unbelievable. Now, however, I have found incredibly well-written crossovers that are really believable and enjoy them immensely. As long as they're well-written and well-constructed, I love them as much as any other genre!

4. If you could write a crossover, what would it be? What fandom(s) would you choose and what Star Wars era would it be set in? And, just for kicks, what would you title it?

Barring the ones I've already written, if I could write a crossover, it would be... SW/Doctor Who, just because the TARDIS could so possibly make its way into the GFFA. And, because I love the Beyond, it would probably be a NJO or post-NJO AU.

And I can't answer my own question for that last one. I'll get back to it.

5. What's your favourite crossover you've read?

I have a ton of favourites and there are some really good ones on these boards! RK_Striker_JK_5's Sailor Moon/SW crossover, Three New Sailor Senshi is wonderful, even for a non-Sailor Moon fan like myself. I didn't know anything about Sailor Moon prior to reading it.

Another favourite is TheProphetofSullust's Harry Potter and the Dark Lord of the Sith, which mixes Harry, Ron and Hermione into the OT Saga world perfectly.

Hello. I'm Brodie. as you can see to your left, I've been around about 2 years. It has been full of lots of ups, and a couple of downs. I'm glad to be here.

I like the idea of crossovers. The possibilities are endless.

I've been kind of 'bleh' towards crossovers, rarely reading one (epics aren't my thing). I like the idea of crossovers, but the application has rarely been explored.

4. If you could write a crossover, what would it be? What fandom(s) would you choose and what Star Wars era would it be set in? And, just for kicks, what would you title it?

I wrote a crossover one-shot some time ago. It was a Star Wars/24 crossover. Luke Skywalker and Jack Bauer in an 'old characters' home discussing their histories. It was called 'When Force Meets The Force'.

One of the few I've read, and really enjoyed, was WyoJedi's Devil in the Details . It's a STS9/KOTOR crossover.

2. Why did you click on this thread? - 'Cause I am trying to write a Phantom of the Opera crossover, and I love reading crossovers!

And, just for kicks, what would you title it? -- I think I'd do a cross between Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom of the Opera and Star Wars. Singing pirates dueling with lightsabers... yeah, that would be cool!

It would probably be a kind of Episode 2/3 thing. I think I would title it... "The Phantom of the Jedi Temple... Savvy?"

I'm kinda doing it right now. I'm slowly writing a Buffy multi - crossover that's going to end up having a major PT character end up in Buffy's world around Season 7 of Buffy.

One other crossover I would love to write someday would be a WWE/NJO eraesque crossover where the actual events of NJO didn't happen. Not sure if I'm actually going to get the oppurtunity to write that one.

Oh, geeze that's a loaded question. I've read so many crossovers here and I've loved them all, but I guess I would have to say my favorite is the first one I read which is rkstriker's Three New Sailor Senshi over on the Beyond boards. I'm a huge fan of Sailor Moon, and I can see how a crossover could work between the two so I was naturally drawn to it.

I guess it depends on many factors. What is the crossover with, and who is writing it. I tend to read fics by certain authors no matter what they write though.

4. If you could write a crossover, what would it be? What fandom(s) would you choose and what Star Wars era would it be set in? And, just for kicks, what would you title it?

I've just completed a James Bond Casino Royale crossover set in PT. It was the hardest thing I have written, trying to make it work, using the right characters. Making sure the mesh is just write. I called it Battle Royale.

5. What's your favourite crossover you've read?

To Tame a Beast by Gina. It is a Beauty and The Beast crossover. Exceptional writing.

I am Ruth I am a thread manager, though you wont see me as much as Idrelle I tend to get busy

I love crossovers when they are well written. I like the idea that characters from one universe can change events in another!

4. If you could write a crossover, what would it be? What fandom(s) would you choose and what Star Wars era would it be set in? And, just for kicks, what would you title it?

Well I'm not a very good writer and I would never want to inflict my writing on anyone but if I could write I would love to do a star wars/smallville crossover. It would be set during the NJO era I think. As a none writer I am not even going to try and come up with a good title!

I have quite a few favourites actually at the moment I am really enjoying my fellow managers Harry Potter crossover The Wizards School another unfinished story that is just begging to be completed is Mar17swgirl's discworld crossover Foreign Relations

Challenge One

?What Universe Did You Say You Were From??

Most crossovers involve characters from both fandoms meeting and interacting directly with each other (yes, we know there are others that are basically the plot of one fandom placed in the world of Star Wars, but let?s not go there yet ). The first Crossover Challenge is going to be an exercise in writing characters from different fandoms meeting each other.

Be warned, there is a catch to this.

So, the challenge:

1. Take ONE character from Star Wars and write a scene where he/she meets ONE character from another fandom, be it Doctor Who, Stargate, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Firefly, The Lion King, Dracula, The Lord of the Rings? whatever!

2. The scene MUST be written only in DIALOGUE! ( )

3. It must include the following five words: intellectual, shebang, orientation, machete, camouflage.

4. There is no word limit.

5. It can be any genre, written in any era!

I wanted to see the listing of crossovers because I wanted to read some new ones.

I love crossovers- have since my first forays into fanfiction. They were almost literally the first genre I started reading.

4. If you could write a crossover, what would it be? What fandom(s) would you choose and what Star Wars era would it be set in? And, just for kicks, what would you title it?

I've actually written one, just haven't posted it on the Boards yet. It's crossed with Pirates of the Caribbean (and that 'verse hence becomes AU). It's set during the Saga (OT era) and is actually an attempt at a "serious" crossover. It's titled "Empires & Rebellions."

Ward by Cathy_Pauline. It's honestly one of the best ones I've come across in my years of reading.

Just a note that the Index is continuing to have its data transfered, and has been updated to I from the old index. Also, all completed fanfictions will have "Complete" written in red so it stands out.
