Hey folks, starting this thread for a couple of good reasons and hope to take some of the things from the other costuming thread that I want to see developed further. The other thread would be good to use to chat about your already made costumes, etc... But this primarily deals with the making of costumes. Doing alot of shopping around right now, looking for the best stuff for my Reb Pilot outfit. So, I'll just say what I'm going to say right now: Celebration III is two years away (I think). And I think that this thread should be dedicated to making sure everyone in this FF can go....properly attired. So I'm trying to stir up some of the talk that died out in the other costuming thread about us constructing a vacuum table. I think this would be one of the single coolest things we could do as a fanforce: Building our own costumes. So, I'll open this up to discussion and hope someone who knows more about vaccuum tables than me will take charge and tell us what all needs to be done.

First we need someone with a house that is willing to host the actual table itself. Then we need a pot for everyone to put some money into for the stuff we need to make it. I know a site that has the directions for making one, all I need to do is find it and we are on our way.

So who is willing to host the table that has a house.

here's the address for the table instructions

If anybody is interested in a X-wing pilot costume, I tracked down the exact jumpsuits used in the movie. They are basically US Airforce issue jumpsuits. This link takes you right to where I bought mine.

While we are at it, why not list all the costuming resource webpages that you use.

    Here's one's that I have used

http://bradleyfett.com/ This is where I got my armor, also has a few good suggestions on making your own stuff.

http://www.studiocreations.com/stormtrooper/main.shtml This is the main page of the link I gave earlier, it has info on making your own Stormtrooper as well as making a vaccumtable and lots of other good info

http://www.padawansguide.com/basic.shtml info on making a jedi costume as well as links to other sites on the same topic. Has good picture references for various character specific jedi costumes

There are tons and tons of others, more that I have been to and have used in the past, but these are the ones that I had on my favorites, if I come up with more I'll post 'em. Also there are boards here on the jedi council that are just about costuming as well http://boards.theforce.net/board.asp?brd=10019

Another idea, if the pot gets big enough...

With the new names/themes for our FanForce floating around (Imperial, Rebel, Bounty Hunter, etc.) why not try to find the best way to mass-produce something of that theme? Say we go with an Empire fanforce theme. The vacuum table can be used for trooper armor, and a few people can make Officer uniforms. Works the same with Bounty Hunters and Rebels. *shrug* Just a thought.

Interesting. We could have whatever logo that goes with our name on a patch or painted on or something.
