Bill Paxton, who played Hudson in Aliens, an unamed punk in the Terminator who gets his heart pulled out at the beginning, and a cop who's name escapes me atm who gets sliced and skinned on the train in Predator 2.

Well my answer was almost correct. After a quick check I found that Henricksen will indeed be in Alien Vs Predator. Not sure if he'll get sliced up by a predator but he'll be in a film with one.

 

Even if I knew how the film went in it's story line (which I don't) I wouldn't go putting a spoiler for it as a quiz answer.

Who designed the Harkonnen look for David Lynch's Dune?

 

Hmmm... H.R. Giger was rumoured to have been considered for the role of designer on that film, but that's not it...was it Jean-Paul Gautier, or am I thinking of The Fifth Element?

 

Gautier did the costumes for the 5th Element, but Gieger did the production design work for Dune, each designer was given a planet to design individually, a great aproach in films dealing with more than one fictional culture imo.

 

I guess that means you get to ask us another one since that one's answered!

...Er, seriously, and a little more cryptically, a three-parter:

(1) Who is Karr?
(2) Who was her/his/its voice?
(3) Name two other characters that person voiced.

 

1) K.A.R.R., the Knight Automated Roving Robot, the predecessor to K.I.T.T., the automated car of Knightrider fame.

2) voiced by Peter Cullen.

3) He's done the voice of a lot of characters, most notably though would be Eeeyore from Winnie the Pooh and Optimius Prime from te Transformers.


Keeping with the voice actor line, There was a charatcer named Martin who got shot in the face in a film released 10 years ago ("You should be the one on brain detail!") , name the actor and two animated characters he's voiced recently.

Here's a hint, one's an accountant and the other is a superhero.

There are only two possible answers I can think of - John Travolta or Samuel L Jackson.

The answer is Phil LaMarr, and two animated characters he has voiced recently are Duo from the Animatrix, and Green Lantern in JLA. However I can't think of something in which he has been an accountant.

Now for my question. (Also voice actor related)

An actor from Conan the Barbarian voices an evil wizard in a really awesome current animated series. Name the actor and the series.

 

The accountant character is Hermes Conrad from Futurama...

 

I thought his characters name was Marvin, not Martin in Pulp Fiction ?

My question: under Star Wars EU, what does TIE refer to and who designed and built the system it refers to?

 

Twin Ion Engine. Designed by Seinar Systems and founded by a guy of namd Seinar. Can't remember his first name but it always reminds me of Ralph.

Ok. Another EU one which should be easy since a lot of you have read a heck of a lot more EU books than I have.

In Timothy Zahn's original Thrawn trilogy, what was Thrawn's prime source of indide information on what the new republic was up to?

 

Hmm. I would've said it was Imperial Intelligence, but I think you're referring to Thrawn's more secret wellspring of intelligence. This was Delta Source. It comprised a series of ch'hala trees, which react to sound waves by chemical changes in the tree. The chemical changes were interpreted to sounds and voices and transmitted via a small transmitter about eight metres down along the main root.

My next question, and easy (I think) -- Batman was born the moment his parents were murdered. Who killed them, and what were their occupations (if any)?

(PS Either movie or comic canon will suffice here).

 

I can only answer half that question so I'll wait to see if anyone can get the lot before I make an attempt!
