    Here's how it goes:

AZSithlord was talking about running a new campaign for those of us in Sideshow's original RPG. But seeing as how there hasn't been anything posted or written as of late about that, I thought I'd take a stab at putting one together.

The campaign will revolve around a smuggling crew hired by a Core-based corporation to act as 'pathfinders' on assignments such as plotting out new or alternate hyperspace shipping routes, and following leads on ancient civilizations that could mean lost treasures or advanced technology. Their jobs will be taking on pretty much any crazy enterprise considered too ridiculous to send a real research vessel or Imperial patrol. Of course, the crew can still take jobs moving cargo in between assignments if the price is right, and provided it's not too illegal and that they don't get caught.

This will be set during the Empire period of ANH, give or take a few months.

The crew is made up mostly of the smugglers and maybe some research people from the corporation, so there's room for most kinds of character types. The number of characters we'll have is very flexible, depending on how often people can show up. I'd really like it if everyone can make it on a regular basis, though.

I'm leaning towards running this w/the D6 system, unless you guys prefer the D20 instead.

A word of warning first; some of my story ideas may stray into 'adult' themes, a la Farscape, Red Dwarf, Red vs. Blue and maybe a hint of Andromeda.

The gaming sessions will probably be at the same time as Sideshow's, Sunday afternoons, though I am open for suggestions. Like perhaps Saturday evenings all the way through to the next morning maybe...?

Now, this is the important part. AZSL was the first one to suggest running a new campaign, so he gets first dibs on the SW game running.
Yo Sithlord, are you still going to run something?

so far, Mick, LJC and Daikon are willing to play. With me included, that's enough to run this Red Dwarf-style at least.

    and that's five.

does anyone else want a different time for this game? to make sure as many people can make it as possible.

and also, does anyone have a preference for the system we use, D6 or D20?

I'll give it a go, I've got several character ideas brewing already. Let me put in my vote for D20.

last time i checked, the position was still open...

...unless anyone else wants to head up this ship o'redshirts waiting to happen.

uh oh, i said my thoughts out loud again, didn't i... [face_devil] ;)

btw, void? can i go over your SW books for research sometime on this? i'm 'constructing' the ship, among other things, and i'm gonna need help on this.
for that matter, could you help me with some of this?

    a few things of note:

-i will be using the d20 system for the campaign. from what i understand of it, it doesn't seem too different from the d6.

-i'm gonna try to get this started either the weekend of the 20th or the first weekend in april.

-anyone that can show up regularly will be a member of the smugglers' crew. anyone that isn't sure they'll be there at each session will be specialists from the corporation, assisting on whatever assignment the smugglers are sent on for a certian period. There's flexibility for attendence built into the premise... i just didn't know it was there originally. er.

-we've got at least 5 regulars, and 5 that might. so far, so good.

EDIT- i'm gonna allow force sensitives, but there's a cap of 2-3. so far we've got 2 chars proposed as force sensitive, i think i can wedge one more in. i don't want the crew to suddenly sprout lightsabers down the road... though having the SW equivalent of metahumans otoh minus the training... that could be interesting, and keep w/the Farscape vibe i'm building...
