So, they're really going through with this, and with Tom Cruise and a female Mummy as well.

 

I'd figure you butt would sag more after a few thousand years.

 

So is TC still playing a 50 something year old Navy Seal in the Mummy Reboot?

 

Ahhh, and a Russel Crowe Jeckel and Hyde superhero crossover moment, apparently.

 

I'm unhappy with all of this.


ALL of it. Karloff and Chaney Jr. are rolling in their graves.

But that's okay! I don't have to watch it or talk about it past this point!

 

I guess they weren't able to keep any pictures of the Mummy under wraps.

 

Remember that one Alan Moore quote where he said Hollywood has become so unoriginal that they'll pretty soon cast Johnny Depp as Captain Crunch? I think he was reciting a prophecy.

 

A movie based on cereal.........












And why not?

 

So, would that make it a cereal serial?

 

Well this does not look promising.

 

That almost looks good.

 

It looks better than that Dracula Untold movie which is currently in UMCU limbo. I say don't keep it in.

 

Mission Impossible: Mummy Protocol.

I hope their is an Easter egg mention of the older Mummy movie. Like "They said this happened once 90 years ago."

 

It looks like this one may have more of a horror-film to it with action and adventure sprinkled in as opposed to the Brendan Fraser Mummy movie which was Action/Adventure with some horror sprinkled in (Mummy 2 and 3 basically outright adventure with little to no horror/more Indiana Jones-esque feel).

 

Yeah, it does look like they've tipped that balance a tad here, but still looks like plenty of action and set pieces. It's a popcorn horror flick.

I think there's real potential in a shared cinematic Monster universe. If done right (a big if I know, as it's not as easy as Marvel makes it look sometimes), it could be a heckuva lot of fun to watch this monster mash unfold. The trailer looks good, I like the idea of Cruise and Crowe anchoring this thing. Count me excited and cautiously optimistic.

And just to add to the Cruise title humor; Top God.

 

If I wanted to watch two old farts go after a beautiful but deadly younger lady, I'd just watch Grumpy Old Men again.
