a question about a new hope please help me

i posted this in the star wars forum but it was crossed out, so maybe u guys can help me
at the begining of a new hope a bounty hunter brings chewbacca to jabba for a ransom, it just so happens that this bounty hunter is none other than princess leia! she then goes on to save hans solo. i'm not sure if anyone remembers this, but what are the chances leia just happens to turn in chewbacca for a ransom at the same place hans is being held? this is a glaring plot hole, mr. lucas

 

ok.. well... first of all, that was in RotJ .. and Leia's turning in Chewie for a bounty was part of the scheme to free Han

Han would have liked any method used to free him.

 

It was a scheme. Chewie agreed to help in the plan to free Han. It was a calculated plan.

That is the point. It is not coincindence.

I actually agree with you, Bid4Tuna. The seems to be a a discrimination towards Chewie throughout the Trilogy.

For instance, they were also trying to get rid of him in ANH by handcuffing him and taking him up to the interrogation rooms and swapping him for Leia.

Well, considering that Han did the exact same thing with Chewie to get Leia in ANH, and it worked well there, I think it's a rather nice parallel.

Besides, Chewie looks good in chains. It accessorizes nicely with that bland bandolier.

They weren't actually giving Chewie to Jabba, it was a trick. They were pretending to hand him over.

You can easily lie to get past the COPPA thing.

As for Chewie in ANH, the Empire feels that Aliens are inferior to humans, so it is not too surprising that Chewie would be a false captive.

Anyways, as most people already said, the whole thing was a plan to free Han. And that was the beginning of RoTJ.

Ya know, this kid has a point. Leia was one mean Princess. I can't believe she'd turn in a friend to free another friend. I demand George Lucas change this entire movie for the Super Elite Uber Mega Special Edition. That's right, kill Han and Chewie, and leave the droids there.
