I was wondering if he is a good director or a bad one.
Because on this sit called supershadow.com, George Lucas often comments on how terrible Kershner was and he would have been better off directing it himself.
On the other hand, in this forum, i always hear everyone saying good things about him.

Can someone please clariffy this for me?

TLJ Edit: Yeah, SS is a really bad basis for a thread.

ESB is good. Kershner directed ESB. Therefore Kershner is good. Lucas appreciated Kershner's help and guidance of his trilogy. Watch Empire of Dreams or the ESB audio commentary and you'll hear George praising Irvin many time. In fact Kershner was Lucas' teacher at college.

Stop listening/reading Supershadow, that guy has no idea.

    (1) Supershadow has a long and storied tradition of publishing fictional stories for the express purpose of messing with naive SW fans. Google around, you'll be amazed.

    (2) What George Lucas, or people on an Internet forum*, do or do not say about a director does not magically make that person a good or bad director. That is a question you must formulate your opinion about. Kershner has directed several feature films available at your local video rental establishment, happy hunting.

    -Supershadow is a phoney
-Yes, Kershner is a very good director. Unfortunately his only other journey into mainstream moviemaking was Robocop 2, which Kershner, myself and just about anyone else would agree is a terrible film. But other than that he is quite good.

ESB is the best film. Kershner directed it. Correlation.

First thing you need to know is that SS is a total sack of crap. Just some loser who says outrageous things like that to get attention. According to himself he also is married to a porn star  Kershner is known more for making smaller less epic films, I've never seen any of them, but I hear that their pretty good.

and get this....fans are always asking 'george lucas' on supershadow when he is going to direct episodes 7-9 and he replies, in about ten years if he is still alive. if he isn't he says supershadow will be the director. he rekons supershadow is the person who helped him the most with SW- yet he is not mentioned in the credits???? i have a taped interview on tv with George Lucas and he says specifically, there is no episode 7. Personally, i cant wait what supershadow will say wen that ten years comes. And george also said (in supershadow), im not going to waste the rest of my life fixing up star wars- as in star wars was a waste. He also said Kershner went over the budget and nearly sent him bankrupt.

    Supershadow is full of ****
