a question about the Imperial Navy joining forces

    do you all think if the imperial officers had formed a plot together, would they have been successful in overthrowing the emperor and Vader? Or at least maybe vader.With all that firearm they have? Sorry if this has been discussed before!

    It didn't work in the past (see below) and it may not have worked "a long time ago". It depends on so many factors, not least of which may be the leg of a conference table.

    The Imperials probably would have been able to get rid of Vader, but they wouldn't have stood a chance against Palpatine himself. The only oppurtunity where they actually had a chance to overthrow the Emperor was when Tarkin had control of the Death Star. I don't find it hard to believe he might have been able to use it to take out Coruscant or whatever planet Palpatine was on at the time, and either convince Vader to join his coup or just have Vader killed outright. Too bad the Rebels had to go and destroy it before that could happen... But then again, Tarkin wouldn't have even started thinking of using his Death Star to take over the Empire until after the Rebellion was destroyed, so I guess they didn't have much of a choice.
