Who are more powerful, Fairies or witches?

My six year old asked and I just don't know. I suggested she post it on here, but she pointed out this violates the T&Cs. Therefore I ask on her behalf.

 

Well, if you take The Wizard of Oz as an example, I'd say fairies have the upper hand.

 

As a whole I say faires are more dangerous, but witches like wizards on an individual basis can rise well above the levels of power of a given fairy or fae queen.

I think they are from the candy realm.

 

Yeah it all depends. I would say in the original Grimm/Anderson tales, fairies are more powerful.

 

So what kind of candies fall under the purview of a Candy Queen & which for a Candy Witch?

 

No sprite has a CR above 5. By contrast, a witch is just a variant name for a sorcerer, so it can gain levels at it sees fit. Plus casters are generally overpowered as is.

 

The Fair Folk don't like to be called fairies and they are certainly more powerful than witches.

 

So as expected, Ramza is the lone voice of discord.

 

The good guys are always more powerful. What kind of parent are you?

I told her fairies are more powerful, but she said she saw a fairy defeated by three witches. I pointed out the disparity in numbers, but she's not buying it.

I heard that the Ice King is the most powerful, but I'm not so sure.
